Combining tailoring with a love of eccentric style, men connected their paths (both in private and in work), putting their first collection to critical acclaim in 1986. Since then, their brand has only expanded, new lines have been added: beachwear, underwear, perfumes, accessories, men's and children's clothing, the more democratic and youth line D&G.

Despite the fact that in 2003 Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana ended their romantic relationship, they continue to work together as business partners. Their business continues to grow. In 2006, their Gold restaurant, cinema and event venue called Metropol opened in Milan, their hometown.
