The designer began his journey into the world of fashion with a prom dress that he sewed for his girlfriend, who turned out to be the daughter of the American ambassador to Spain. The girl appeared on the cover of Life magazine, thanks to which the designer received an invitation to the House of Balenciaga. At that time, Oscar was already 28 years old. And two years later, he moved to Paris, where he began cooperation with Lanvin... A year later, the designer moved to the United States and opened his own brand, which after a couple of years earned the trust of the most discerning women.
