Zach Posen is from a Jewish family. He received an introduction to beauty to a greater extent from his father. Stephen Posen, father of the designer, was an artist, mother, Susan Posen worked as a corporate finance attorney. Zac Posen, along with his older sister, often visited art galleries, of which there were a great many around them, because they grew up in one of the districts of Manhattan. This has always been encouraged by the parents. Therefore, little Zach grew up a creative child. And this was noticeable from early childhood. He had a lot of toys, especially small figurines, for which he began to make outfits, moreover, from the most unusual materials. It was nothing more than seaweed. He also loved to put on puppet shows that the whole family watched. In a Jewish family you can always find a yarmulke (a Jewish man's headdress), and in Zak's family there were enough of them ... He often dragged them around to sew new outfits for his dolls.

Zach recalled that while doing this interesting business for him, he caught himself thinking that he was clearly uncomfortable because his favorite activities were not at all those that should interest the boy. He began to feel ashamed of his hobbies.

But his parents were very supportive of his studies, and even assigned him to St. Anne's private school, which was located in the Brooklyn Heights area, where he studied creative arts. In his youth, he began to make clothes for himself. Zack often attended various charity clothing sales and then altered it himself, complementing and decorating it as he liked.

At St. Anne's School, Zach met his girlfriend, Lola Schnabel. The artist's daughter, Lola became his closest friend.

When he was 15 years old, he made an outfit that made a splash. Lola's sister, Stella, a 12-year-old girl, asked him to sew her a dress that would look like she was without clothes. Zack easily complied with this request - he sewed a dress from flesh-colored velvet ...

He opened his first atelier in the living room of his parents' house. This is how his creative life began through culture and business. “… I was not a rich child. I was very cultured, and all my wealth was in this. "

In 1996, Zach Posen trained at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Here he studied the art and work of the master designers of the past.
