How to choose the right type of lipstick

The lips of girls, in attracting the attention of men, can be inferior only to the eyes. And therefore, it is lipstick that is one of the most demanded cosmetics. At the dawn of the creation of this cosmetic product, the choice was not great, but since the XX century, the beauty industry has developed, and today in the XXI century we have at our disposal a great variety of types of lipstick.

Modern lipsticks vary in color and price, but today we're not talking about that, but about the types of lipsticks, and how they differ.

Moisturizing lipstick
Moisturizing lipsticks are primarily designed to soften and moisturize lips to prevent or relieve dryness and flaking. To moisturize, the lipstick contains avocado oils, coconut oils, or some other oil. Such lipsticks are well suited for summer or spring, when the sun is active and the air temperature is above zero. The disadvantages include easy abrasion from the lips, so it is easy to stain clothes with such lipstick.

Nourishing lipstick
Nourishing lipsticks are saturated with waxes and fats. The main purpose of the nourishing lipstick is to nourish the skin of the lips, to protect it from chapping and cold. Such lipsticks are good in the cold season, but they also have drawbacks. The main disadvantage of nourishing lipsticks is that, due to the abundance of fatty components, the lip contour can become blurry (you need to use a lip liner and lightly powder the areas around the lips along the contour), and nutritious lipsticks can visually make the lips less voluminous. To add volume, you will have to additionally apply lip gloss over the lipstick.

Super long-lasting lipstick
Super-long-lasting lipsticks are cosmetics that can stay on the lips for 12 to 24 hours, in any case, according to the manufacturers. Lips, when using such lipstick, retain their color, and do not require tinting for a long time. Stability is achieved by the fact that the composition of resistant lipsticks include waxes of plant and mineral origin in combination with saturated volatile esters. These lipsticks are applied very easily, with a soft feeling. Esters quickly evaporate, leaving a bright color film on the lips. Only they have their drawbacks!

The disadvantage of super long-lasting lipsticks is that they cause dry lips, and can even cause skin tightening and discomfort. And one more thing, if you touch your lips with something greasy, for example, eat fatty foods, then the properties of a super-stable lipstick may be lost.

Hygienic lipsticks
Hygienic lipstick is intended for lip care. This lipstick can be used in any season both for going out and at home. The composition of hygienic lipsticks includes nutrients, antiseptic substances, vitamins, moisturizing emulsions, UV filtersthat protect the delicate skin of the lips from the harmful effects of the sun. Some hygienic lipsticks include color and flavor additives, but they are not used for make-up. the main purpose of hygienic lipstick is to care for the skin of the lips.

Lip balms
Lip balm is similar in principle to hygienic lipstick, it includes components for lip skin care, but as a rule it has more decorative properties, i.e. brighter color components, mother of pearl, reflective filters. Lip balms can be used for everyday light makeup.

Lip gloss
Lately, lip gloss is quite popular when applying makeup. Lip gloss has a different consistency than lipstick. It is not made in the form of a solid post, and is applied to the lips using an applicator.Lip gloss is suitable for natural makeup when applied to the lips, or as an additional decorative component when applied over lipstick. The very name “gloss” implies that when applied, we get an additional shiny effect, therefore the lip gloss contains mother-of-pearl, small sparkles and other components that provide this effect.

The disadvantage of lip gloss is that it bleeds easily on the lips and requires frequent touch-up to prolong its shine.
