Jewelry from aventurine stone

Aventury? N (Italian. Avventura - adventure). This name is known for fine-grained quartz of brown, gray-yellow, red, green and blue colors with a golden sparkling sheen. The sparkling stars of brown aventurines are due to the inclusion of small flakes of hematite, goethite, or biotite. And the shimmering shine of greenish aventurines is due to inclusions of fuchsite or gilbertite.

In the compounds of quartz there are also mica scales, which sparkle and play in the sun, bewitching with their brilliance. Any color of aventurine is due to inclusions of impurities, therefore, if you like this stone, you can make a choice of colors - yellow, brown, green, red, cherry, blue and even black. The dark blue aventurine got the name - "Night of Cairo", as it really looks like a dark blue southern sky, strewn with stars.

History of aventurine stone and aventurine glass
The history of the name of the stone is as follows - even in Ancient Egypt, a method of making amazing glass with sparkling stars inside was known. Then the secret of this method was lost, and only in the 16th century glass blowers from Murano, in a place near Venice, they created glass of amazing beauty. Apparently by accident, hitting the molten glass, copper filings sparkled with twinkling stars.

And at the beginning of the 18th century, the name of the stone, very similar in sparkling luster to glass, appeared - aventurine (Italian: Avventura - adventure). And since then glass has been called aventurine. There are several technologies for producing sparkling glass, one of them was developed in St. Petersburg at the Technological Institute at the end of the 19th century. Aventurine glass can also be of different colors - blue with the addition of cobalt oxides, green with the addition of chromium oxides, red-brown with the addition of copper or iron oxides.

But as for the stone itself, as already mentioned, the color and texture of aventurine depends on the composition of inclusions of various impurities, as well as the size of the grains and the uniformity of their distribution. Therefore, greens have a uniform color and are more durable, yellows have the strongest sparkle, golden cherry colors have a bright color and intense shimmer, etc.

How to clean aventurine jewelry
It will not be difficult to clean jewelry made of this stone. Aventurine tolerates soapy water well, and a soft brush will also be a good helper in this case. You can simply rinse the jewelry under running water. After such a bath, aventurine loves to soak up the sun, "feed" on solar energy.

Astrology, magic and medicine
Astrologers consider aventurine one of the most powerful stones in terms of its energy and recommend wearing products from it to those born under the signs of the Zodiac: Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo. Aventurine is favorable to people born under the signs of Aquarius, Libra and Gemini. But astrologers do not recommend the union of aventurine with the signs of the zodiac - Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.

Aventurine has long been used for treatment. Oriental doctors suggested it for therapeutic massage, assured that it has a positive effect on the heart, eyes, calms the nervous system, and also has a positive effect on hair, which becomes thick and strong.

What other properties were endowed with aventurine by ancient doctors? In their opinion, the stone raises the mood, sharpens emotions, sensuality, therefore it can be a source of inspiration for creative individuals. But what is valuable for some does not suit others. For example, for those who are in charge of some responsible affairs, the stone is not an assistant, on the contrary, it will distract from business.

Aventurine adores not only the Sun, but also the light of the Moon, as, at least, astrologers say, especially the blue aventurine, which resembles the starry night sky. Even ancient physicians argued that aventurine reacts to the change in the phases of the moon, and if you leave it overnight in the light of the moon (on the windowsill), the stone will "recharge" and its healing properties will increase.

If you trust astrologers and ancient doctors, hurry up to buy aventurine jewelry. And if you are confident in your own abilities, buy it anyway - it is extraordinarily beautiful and very inexpensive.

In China, aventurine was a popular stone. Here green aventurine was considered a sacred, "imperial stone". Seals were cut out of it for the emperor himself.

Aventurine is easily polished and is cut in the form of cabochons in jewelry. In Russia, not only jewelry was made from aventurine - rings, brooches, earrings, necklaces, cufflinks, but also vases, candlesticks, handles for knives, forks and manicure tools. The Hermitage contains vases and tables made of Ural aventurine. A vase made of aventurine, 146 cm high with a bowl width of 246 cm, is also exhibited here, and a copy of it made of the same material, but 125 cm high, is kept in the Pavlovsk Palace.
