Wedding hairstyles

Wedding hairstyles have their own history. Traditionally, in Russia, the bride, while singing and crying her girlfriends, would unravel a girl's braid and intertwine it into two braids, and then hid the entire hairstyle under a kokoshnik. After all, married women were supposed to hide their hair under headdresses. The bride's kokoshnik, of course, if it was a girl from a wealthy family, was embroidered with pearls and precious stones.

A white silk scarf could be worn under the kokoshnik for a wedding, the ends of which were embroidered with silver or gold threads. Russian girls married in red sarafans. No wonder they say "red maiden" - in Russia the word "red" was not only a designation for color, but also a synonym for the word "beautiful".

Familiar to everyone veil, as a bride's headdress, appears in the days of Ancient Rome. Roman brides adorned their heads with a yellow veil. In Rome, it was believed that the veil protects the bride from evil spirits. A similar meaning was given to the veil in medieval Europe - the veil protected the bride from the evil eye.

Along with the veil, the diadem is the decoration of the bride's hairstyle. The brides of Ancient Rome also began to adorn their heads with tiaras. Moreover, the diadem in ancient Rome was symbolically nothing more than a wedding crown.

But flower wreaths in brides' hairstyles appear only in the 18th century. Then wreaths, woven from wildflowers, were worn both on the head of the bride and on the head of the groom.

Tradition to wear white wedding dresses also originated in Europe. White color in the wedding ceremony is a symbol of purity and innocence.

Today, wedding hairstyles, however, like the styles of wedding dresses, are very diverse. But they can also be grouped into certain types.

Bridal hairstyle with a bun

Popular types of wedding hairstyles are all kinds of beams... The advantage of wedding hairstyles with buns is that they do not act as the main emphasis in the image of the bride, but on the contrary - the emphasis is on the face, and not on the hairstyle. Hairstyles with buns also do not lose their shape during the day, favorably emphasize the line of the neck and, if the bun is selected correctly, correct the shape of the face.

Depending on their options, braided hairstyles can give the bride's image both severity and romance, playfulness. Hairstyles in which braids serve only as an addition to the main elements of the hairstyle are also very interesting - for example, hairstyles with a bun into which a braid is woven.
