While fulfilling an order for the space industry to create ultra-strong alloys for satellites based on gold and other metals, scientists discovered an interesting feature. Under certain conditions, the surface of the gold turns black. The management of the institute got acquainted with the results of the accidental discovery, and decided to continue experiments in this area. Having carried out many experiments on yellow gold, scientists have managed to obtain a deep bluish-black color.

The process of obtaining such gold consists in the fact that for a start, the gold blank is completely oxidized, and then polished to a matrix material. The technology was patented, and scientists began to work on expanding the color palette.

In the course of experiments, the researchers were able to cross gold with aluminum and gallium, thanks to which they obtained jewelry alloys of purple and beautiful purple gold. Then there were experiments on the fusion of gold with rubidium and indium, as a result of which green and blue gold should be obtained.

In addition to creating full-fledged alloys, there are simpler ways. After placing the sample, the finished decoration is covered with a thin layer of black metal.
