Ganguro's style is complete freedom - a combination of the most diverse clothes, no limits, restrictions and prohibitions. The streets of Tokyo sparkle with all the colors of the rainbow from the bright clothes of the representatives of this subculture, which stand out for their brightness and originality.
Style Ganguro are mainly girls with a very, very strongly tanned face, almost to black, with bright makeup, long false eyelashes and long false nails, with multi-colored, but more often with white or silver lush hair and lots of jewelry and all over the body, and on all accessories. If these are phones, then phones with a lot of stickers, rhinestones, keychains, if these are bags, then the bags are bright, stuffed with some other accessories and various cosmetics. And then, bright tops, bright sandals on a high platform, mini-skirts and much, much more.

The Japanese youth, as it were, are going against Japanese traditions in protest. These bright, funny images are like imitation of western tanned and long-legged beauties with blue eyes. Is it possible? Most often it looks extremely funny and even caricatured. There are boundaries, rules and canons in the traditions of a particular country, and in everything one must have a sense of proportion. Blind imitation can cause either bewilderment, or a grin, or even dislike. However, funny at first glance, admirers of Ganguro sometimes become a model for fashion designers.

How did it come about Ganguro style?
There are those who attribute the emergence of this subculture to the influence of popular hip-hop music, or the popularity of the singer Namie Amuro. They say that it was she who introduced the fashion for tan and bleached hair (after all, many want to become blondes), as well as the style of clothing - skirt + boots. And someone claims that this happened due to the long-term social isolation of Japan.

But today, many varieties have arisen in the Ganguro style. For example, girls with very strong and bright makeup, they are called yamamba ("mountain witch"), or bigaru - this is a ganguro - a lover of RnB music, himegyaru (ganguro in the guise of princesses).
Some ganguros try to be like black beauties, most of them love RnB music, as well as trance or techno. Often on the streets you can see ganguros dancing "para-para", waving their arms, touching passers-by, and thus annoy them.

Most Japanese consider these young people a missing generation to express their complete independence, protesting against Japanese traditions is not enough, there are also responsibilities. Apparently the girls are not yet able to figure out what their responsibilities are, although in most cases this will come with time.
