Fashionable interior design 2016-2017 - trends

Milan Furniture Salon ISaloni is one of the most important events for European designers and furniture manufacturers, which has been held annually since 1961. Design experts Elena Krylova, Maria Borovskaya and Anastasia Kasparyan visited the exhibition and shared their observations.

According to Elena Krylova, interior designer of the premium segment, the main trend of the next year will be the active use of natural stone and its imitation in the interior - up to photographic images.

When it comes to stone carving, the manufacturers have taken up the geometry trend and offered beautiful verified geometric prints on marble. According to experts, such a thread is available only to high-level professionals, the geometry in the thread is aerobatics.

Interior designer Maria Borovskaya, in turn, notes such a trend as metal in the interior. Brass and copper in different shades can already be traced in everything: plumbing fixtures, fittings, countertops edging, furniture and panels. Pink shades of metal look especially fresh in such combinations.

And the architect Anastasia Kasparyan is sure that the interior will often feature metal surfaces with wood, leather and textile inserts. Wall panels are becoming more complex - 3D, velvet, leather, veneer. Interestingly, the use of pure wood is practically disappearing. The raw, rough texture is being replaced by new, complex materials.

Elena Krylova is sure that next year's fashionable palette will consist of turquoise, blue and pink shades... They are present not only in accents, but also as independent leading colors.

Anastasia Kasparyan, supports her colleague in the fact that shades of blue, blue, green and their transitions into each other are the basis of the palette of the whole next year. In general, interiors are now decorated in deep, dark shades, accented by turquoise, green and yellow colors. The color acts in a duet with metal: now it is difficult to find white metal, mainly brass and color are present. It is noteworthy that the manufacturers do not paint the metal, but bring it to the desired state in chemical laboratories.

Maria Borovskaya, who has long been using various shades of pink in the interior, noticed that it is the pink color that will prevail in the interior - from fuchsia to dusty pink. According to her, pink is a universal color with a variety of color combinations that allow you to create, including men's interiors.

All designers agreed that the jungle theme in the interior has become fashionable. But it becomes more complex and transforms: prints are created in black and white and sepia, metal leaves are created and their interpretations in panels and lamps.

Tropical and animal prints, combined with exotic woods such as eucalyptus, as well as metal and marble, add an exotic gloss to interiors.

Forms in interior design 2016-2017

According to Maria Borovskaya, next year will be the year of geometry in design. These are prints, furniture shapes, and countertops. The unusual design of the legs of chairs and tables is also dictated by geometric broken shapes. Cubes are another direction that the designer noted: glass hanging in the kitchen, stand panels and furniture.

3D wall panels are another global trend noted by Anastasia Kasparyan. Designers pay more attention to the decoration of the walls, and leather and suede, separated by metal or wood, become the materials for them.

Speaking of lamps, the architect focuses on the complex compositions that create the architecture of the space. Single and independent lamps practically go out of fashion.

The frame can be traced in pieces of furniture (chairs and tables), and in lamps (bases and sconces), and in decorative solutions. This trend is associated with geometry, which dictates its lines, shapes and interpretations.

Separately, designer Maria Borovskaya noted several new products in kitchen interiors. All island countertops are retractable and hidden at normal times. Kitchens "come off" from the floor, including with the help of decorative lighting, making furniture lighter and more airy.

A pull-out sink is a technological novelty that has every chance of becoming a popular solution in private interiors. A very unusual solution for a hob is to hide it under a marble countertop slab. It looks aesthetically pleasing and elegant, and also saves work space.

Summing up, we can say that interiors are becoming more complex in terms of the geometry of the space, but simplified in terms of the use of materials - stone, metal, wood. Modern processing technologies allow you to create their various combinations and shades. The colors that remain in trend are complex greens, blue, gray and pale pink. Prints are geometric and natural.
