Sherri Serafini first trained as a graphic designer at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After working for some time in the advertising department of the newspaper, Sherri got married and gave birth to her eldest daughter. It was in the early 90s, and in 1997, a tragic accident changed her life.

Sherri's mother was involved in a car accident and found herself in dire straits. Sherri devoted a long time to caring for her mother, and, being near the hospital bed, began to make her first attempts at beaded needlework. Mom recovered, and Sherri acquired a new business, to which she devotes all her free time after the family.

Shibori is a Japanese silk dyeing technique, characterized by the peculiarity of folding or even twisting the material when dyed, which gives uneven color shades on the fabric. Modern dyes allow you to create a large color palette. The Japanese used this technique as early as the 8th century.

In addition to beads, she enjoys returning to her roots - drawing 2D drawings, papier-mâché and illustration.

For 20 years, Sherri Serafini has made not only unique jewelry from beads, she is the author of many books on beadwork, although she herself still no, no, and will open her favorite book "The New Beadwork", which became for her a textbook and now a source of inspiration.
