Lebanese designer, born 1971. From the age of three, Zukhair did not part with pencil and paper. And how can you not paint when everything around in your native Baalbek attracted the eyes of not only artists and crowds of tourists, but also the eyes of a small child.

Baalbek has always been flooded with tourists who longed to see the preserved ancient temples, concealing so many mysteries. From morning until sunset, life was in full swing in the city, there was a hubbub of different languages, fabrics dazzled, bold and effective jewelry with its bright colors and sparkling jewelry attracted attention. Born in Baalbek, located about 80 km from Beirut, he was imbued with the atmosphere around him.





The boy sat for hours among the ancient ruins, reminiscent of long gone civilizations. In his drawings, one could see bright flowers, and intricate curls of bas-reliefs on ancient stone slabs, and Phoenician ships. After all, it was this area that was once called Phenicia. True, after the conquests of Alexander the Great, the city was renamed Heliopolis. Zukhair's family was far from fine art - his father kept a small shop, his mother raised the children and was busy with the housework. Further studies required funds, and therefore the future was illusory.

When a boy grows up, new images appear more and more often in his imagination - beautiful girls in luxurious dresses. It was they who took their place in the drawings of the young artist. He invented fabulous outfits for them, decorated them with lace and transparent capes, because Lebanese girls, observing all the canons of their religion, did not appear on the streets without covering themselves to their eyes.



Once, knowing the abilities of Zuhair, his acquaintance turned to him with a request - to come up with a beautiful wedding dress for his sister, who was marrying a European. It was not difficult for Zuhair. The bride's dress delighted all the guests and the groom's relatives.

It remained only to ponder what famous couturier this luxurious wedding dress was from. When the designer's name became famous, there was no one in all of Baalbek who knew who the authorship belonged to, and tailoring in Lebanon is a highly respected profession.

Zuhair Murad soon took part in a television competition for young fashion designers, and won. After that, orders appeared not only from neighbors, but also from very wealthy people.There was money for which the family was able to move to live in Beirut. Parents started talking about Zuhair's further studies. And now the father has helped his son make his dream come true. He collected all the accumulated funds and sent him to Paris to study.



For more than seven years Zukhair mastered the art of haute couture, inspired by the creations of great designers. Despite perseverance in work, the prospects in Europe remained elusive, and Zuhair Murad returned to his homeland.

In 1995, Zuhair returned to Lebanon with a degree in fashion. For some time he helped the family, and then opened his first workshop, and soon earned a high reputation not only in his native Lebanon, but also in the international fashion arena. And it happened in 1999, when Zuhair Murad appeared on the Italian podium.

His debut collection made an amazing impression on everyone. Rome was delighted, the entire Alta Roma Fashion Week-99 was held under the sign of Zuhair Murad.



In 2001 year, the Lebanese designer was commissioned to officially open the Roman festival La Moda. In the same year, he made his debut at the Haute Couture Week in Paris.

In 2010 Zuhair Murad presented the Romantic Intimacy fall-winter 2010/2011 collection at Haute Couture Week, inspired by the images of belle epoque girls.
