USSR fashion and normcore style in the USA and Europe

A lot of bad things have been said about fashion in the USSR. Fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev literally all his life does nothing but ridicule the fashion of the Soviet Union. A lot of documentaries were shot on the topic of fashion in the USSR, where the authors tell how Soviet citizens wore poorly dressed.

mystylex.techinfus.com/en/ is not going to defend the USSR and claim that Soviet women and men dressed well. In fact, most people dressed modestly, gray, and monotonously. Guests from Western Europe and the USA made fun of the Soviet reality, but in recent years in Europe, the USA, Israel and other countries one can see no less squalor than in the days of the USSR.

Normcore style

People in the USSR lived in need, the lack of beautiful stylish clothes in their wardrobe was explained by the inability to buy them. In Modern Europe and the United States, even the poor can afford to periodically update their wardrobe, but in reality, more and more people are showing complete indifference to their appearance.

This phenomenon is called the Normcore style. Why do people give up the opportunity to look their best? Many researchers and experts argue that normcore followers have three main reasons:

1. It is believed that the majority of people who dress in the style of normcore do not want to spend time choosing images. Instead, they prefer to do more important things.
2. People who are fed up with fashion abandon the constant race for fashion trends.
3. Expression of protest to the consumer society.

Some are actually guided by the enumerated principles, only a minority of them. The bulk simply lost their sense of beauty and style, or rather, they were already born without an understanding of beauty, and during their life they could not develop it in themselves.

Let's look, for example, at the notorious Mark Zuckerberg and his wife. They dress like the most ordinary cattle from the gateway of a seedy town. But no one talks about them like that. It is generally accepted that these people do not want to waste time choosing clothes in order to invest all their time in the development of facebook and instagram.

If they used to dress stylishly and beautifully, and then suddenly decided to change everything, one could agree with this statement. Only Mark Zuckerberg always dressed as he is now, he never had an understanding of style and beauty. He didn't have to give up fashion and style for facebook, he was always far from this topic.

This applies to most followers of the normcore style, they are simply indifferent to their appearance, and they are content with the smallest in the aesthetic plan of their lives. Many have great financial opportunities, but they are deprived of development in the fields of culture, art history and beauty in the broadest sense.

In the USSR, most women wanted to dress beautifully, but did not have the financial ability, did not know how to select clothes and accessories, and most importantly, they did not have a choice, because in the USSR stores there was a very meager assortment of fashionable goods. The Soviet leadership adhered to the idea that a Soviet citizen should think about studies, work and the interests of society, and not follow fashion.

In modern Western society, almost everyone has the opportunity to buy, but many are simply indifferent to beauty and style. It turns out the following - in aesthetic terms, Western society voluntarily goes to the place where the USSR forcibly drove its citizens with an iron hand.

You can philosophize on this topic for a long time, but the essence is as follows - the USSR was condemned for the fact that this state deprived citizens of their individuality, turning them into a gray mass, but now developed countries are rapidly moving in a similar direction. Today more and more people want to merge with the crowd, some do it consciously, and many unconsciously.

In this publication mystylex.techinfus.com/en/ does not pretend to be a complete statement of the whole essence of this phenomenon. Many people choose the normcore style very thoughtfully, they tend to stand out without standing out, but that's another story. In the future, we will look at the normcore style from a different angle ...

Complete nonsense. The author, quite obviously, did not live in the Soviet Union.

The author lived in the USSR and studied this topic additionally. Only all people are different, so the perception and recollection of life in the USSR can be very different. Even now, within the same city, different people see life in their city differently.
