The first communion is a ceremony in some Christian traditions, during which a person receives the Eucharist for the first time. It was common in the Latin American tradition of the Catholic Church, as well as in many parishes of the Lutheran Church and the Anglican community. In church denominations where the first communion is celebrated, this event usually occurs between the ages of seven and thirteen.
