Tho-Radia radioactive cosmetics promised to keep the skin clean and healthy. Thorium chloride and radium bromide contained in these products were supposed to activate the processes in the cells, smooth the skin from wrinkles and get rid of minor defects.

Modern advertising promises no less, but even more. Only now we are convinced that we know everything, and not as stupid as our ancestors 100 years ago. Of course, science and technology have gone far ahead, but there are many things in the human body, on earth and in the universe that our science has not even begun to investigate. Therefore, many discoveries and disappointments await us in the future.



Now everyone is talking and writing about genetic experiments, robotics, nanotechnology and a wide variety of innovations that are designed to make our lives better. We believe in modern technologies, but when we speak of radiation and radioactivity, we feel danger and even fear. Although less than 100 years ago, radiation did not cause fear.

In the first half of the 20th century, radiation did not seem to be an enemy, but a friend of man, a source of health and beauty.
