Anna Dello Russo was born in 1962 in the city of Bari, a port city in the very south of Italy. Anna received her BA in Italian Literature and Art History. She then continued her education at the Domus Academy, the famous Milan Academy of Arts, from which she graduated in 1986.

And then Anna moved into journalism, into fashion journalism. So she started working for Donna magazine, but soon moved to VOGUE Italia magazine, and it was at VOGUE that Anna would stay for many years.
