Edwardian fashion and street style

During the Edwardian Age, women gained some freedom, but in general life was full of prohibitions and strict rules. Despite this, fashion was of great importance. In those days, there was already real Haute Couture, fashion magazines, salons, ateliers and even street style photos!

Such photographs are very rare. In 1900-1910, photography was quite expensive, and people did not take dozens of shots a day for fun, as we take pictures at the earliest opportunity today. Then people prepared for shooting, put on the best dresses and did their best to create the most exquisite image. Therefore, street style photos from the Edwardian Era are especially valuable, because they provide an opportunity to see fashionistas of those years in a real setting.

Street style during the Edwardian era

Funny street style distinction from Edwardian Era is that some girls on the go look not at smartphones, but at books. In those early days, the book was the main source of knowledge. Then reading books was in vogue, so any cultured girl was well versed in literature, poetry and strove to master more exact sciences.
