It doesn't matter if you design professionally or just interested in graphic design, fashion or marketing - knowing the future trends will help you better navigate in all these areas. In this article, we'll show you the top color trends of 2019 highlighted by the designers of Canva, which many people use to design Instagram and other social media pages.

1. Coral

The Pantone company, which has developed a uniform color matching system for many industries, annually announces its color of the year. In 2018 it was "ultraviolet", and in 2019 the choice of color palette specialists fell on coral. “Living Coral color envelops us with warmth and care, creating comfort and a cheerful atmosphere in an ever-changing reality,” reads the verdict of the experts.



Coral is brighter than pink, but softer than red. In addition, the choice of this color is associated with the growing attention to the problem of coral reefs and their protection from human influences.

Corporations such as Apple have already fallen into the trend of connecting nature and technology in the design of the iPhone. This one example suggests that coral will soon be used more and more in the design of accessories.

2. Neon lime color

This color was chosen by the editors of one of the largest photo stocks Shutterstock. According to company research, the colors UFO Green, Plastic Pink and Proton Purple have a huge following worldwide and stand out from other local preferences that differ from country to country. And it is lime green that is the most popular color in the United States in terms of the number of searches on the Internet. By the way, for Russia this color turned out to be brick or red ocher.



Of these three shades, lime is most associated with nature, freshness, creative energy and confidence in the future.

3. Pink

2019 will be the year when designers and marketers will try, on the one hand, to catch the elusive public's attention, and on the other, to evoke emotions. 99designs platform designer Mila Jones Kann believes pink will continue to triumph this year: “Pink is the most versatile and versatile color of the decade”.



In 2016, Pantone named “Rose Quartz” and “Serenity” (delicate blue with a shade of lilac) as the colors of the year, but three years later, it seems, designers cannot part with this color.



Of course, the rose gold iPhones that have made a splash in the mobile device industry come to mind again. But in 2019, the range of pink shades is expanding and evolving - the trend will be brighter variations and unusual combinations with contrasting colors (purple, blue, black and others).

4. Earthy shades

While constantly flashing ads and flashy posts on social networks take up more and more of our attention and time, many designers have turned their eyes in the opposite direction.

Interior designers from the international company Sherwin-Williams point to the growing popularity of earthy shades of brown and gray, their combinations and colors that go well with them: brown, olive, coffee, dark green, deep blue, oatmeal and others.

5. Gold

Gold brings with it luxury, success, achievement of goals and triumph. It is strongly associated with wealth and high status.



For a long time in design, gold and golden hues were treated with caution, but this attitude has changed dramatically. Last but not least, thanks to the Eastern calendar, in which 2019 will be the year of the yellow pig, which means sunny autumn shades.



Accents of gold in your wardrobe or interior design will be more appropriate than ever. In addition, gold also represents a whole palette of different shades. It can be pinkish and combined with coral, it can be close to white, or it can be rich and dark, turning into orange and brown.
