Fashionable women's clothing Alexis Mabille and designer biography

Alexis Mabille (Alexis Mabiy) grew up in a family of tanners who sewed clothes and accessories to order. He was born on January 1, 1978 in Lyon. And from childhood, his professional path was determined. The future designer spent hours in his home attic, where he gladly went through old things, looking for materials that were valuable for his work. After school, he hurried right here, to his attic, or to his parents' studio.

Classes in the attic were much more exciting and rewarding for him than classes at school. Here he drew inspiration from the future designer - he sorted out lace, jewelry and pieces of fabric, joined them, turning old things into his original creations ...

Gradually, Alexis began to sew clothes for himself and his loved ones, and then for friends in his area. He soon became so popular in Lyon that he was approached by the Lyon Opera Theater, for which Alexis began to sew costumes for performances.

This was followed by the prestigious Parisian school (Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture), in which he studied with great desire. In parallel with his studies, Alexis trained at Alexander McQueen and Balmain... After graduating from this educational institution, Alexis Mabiy receives the specialty of a designer. He is sent for an internship at famous French fashion houses: Ungaro, Nina Ricci, Dior.

Working with Dior, Alexis creates a unique jewelry line for John Galliano and launches the Dior Homme menswear line. His talent was then noted by Edi Slimane and advised Alexis to participate in various design competitions in order to show his work to the general public.

The success story of clothing designer Alexis Mabille

The offer seemed tempting to him, and he could not refuse. “You can call me frivolous, but this is not so: for the first time in my life I had the opportunity not only to show the world how I see fashion, but also to work directly with a large factory.” Here he studied the history of the brand, found out how many great designers have worked in it. They were Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Marc Jacobs, Giambattista Valli, brothers Dean and Dan Caiten. He especially admired the work of Castelbajac.

Alexis wanted to recreate this spirit of freedom, classic of the seventies. Flowing silk dresses, tops and blouses with an American armhole, tight-fitting trousers and shorts, stripes on the collars. In his first collections, he reminded everyone of de Castelbajac himself. But he also made his collection of new fabrics, where his heroine was a girl who went in search of adventure to Japan, to the foot of Fujiyama.
