We live in such an interesting time, the time of postmodernism, when it is difficult to come up with something new, and everything new is a revised old one. Fashion is cyclical, it's no secret to anyone. For a long time on the catwalks and in life, we saw girls in the style of Versace and Dolce & Gabbana. But, having played enough with luxury, minimalism took the baton with all its simplicity, brevity and intellectuality.



Scandinavian influencers have taken over the street style. It's beautiful, it's convenient, but at some point it got boring. We are girls, after all, and girls love to dress up.



In contrast to minimalism, a stylistically opposite trend entered the scene - neo-romanticism. And this is one of the most important fashion trends now.

Minimalism (as a response to everything excessive and redundant) and neo-romanticism (as an opposition to over-rational fashion) largely reflect the mood of society and the state of the economy. Fashion becomes more modest during a recession and more emotional - when humanity has anything but stability.

In today's designer collections, there are often references to the Victorian era: a blouse with a high collar, lace tops, ruffles, ruffles, flounces, voluminous sleeves, embroidery, not necessarily white, and the more the better.



Everyone is now talking about rational consumption, the demand for vintage clothing and second-hand goods is growing: some buy things from the 1950s – 1990s, others are inspired by nostalgic romanticism. And designers are trying to reshape many historical objects and look at them differently.

Delicate, light, feminine. These are the words that can characterize the romantic style. An outfit in the style of "romance" in the most favorable light emphasizes all the charms of the female body, gives the image of charm and sexuality, therefore, romanticism is in fashion and will remain in fashion for a long time.



The new romantic trend isn't just ruffles and fluffy skirts. This is the philosophy of an easy and dreamy view of the world, and the opportunity to rethink the traditional attributes of femininity, looking at them in a fun, easy and ironic way. This girl, with her opinion and her outlook on life, knows her own worth and the opinion of others does not really matter to her.

"Neo" means to combine such a dress with a jacket, sneakers and sports sandals, rough boots and even rubber boots, leaving only a gentle fluttering train of silk in sight. Play on contrasts, experiment.



Where to find such a dress? The mass market responds to trends faster than luxury brands. At Zara, half of the spring collection consists of dresses and blouses in this style (it does not have to be white). There are good options on Asos or Lime.

But I would like to give a few tips on little-known brands in Russia that will allow you to stand out from the mass market. They cost a little more, but this purchase-investment will last you one season. For example, brands such as Sister Jane, Ghospell and Cecilie Bahnsen have chosen this style as the basis for their brand. I recommend wearing sneakers during the day, and in the evening, changing to pumps or nice sandals, you are already ready for a date or a party.



And finally, it doesn't matter whether you love this style or not, but a neo-romanticism dress will easily fit into every girl's wardrobe.
