Suits and other clothing from Brioni

If you are told that "agent 007" was dressed by Brioni, do not rush to smile back, because this is the true truth. They have been making costumes for the James Bond films since 1995. Brioni itself, today a very famous brand of menswear, was founded after the end of the Second World War in Rome. And it got its name - Brioni - in honor of the resort on the Adriatic coast, where in the years between the two world wars one could meet the richest and most famous people of Italy of that time.

The Brioni brand, which today is also known as the Brioni Fashion House, was founded by Nazareno Fonticoli and Gaetano Savini. In 1945, they opened their first tailor-made boutique in Via Barberini. Today, Brioni's headquarters are also located on this Roman street at seventy-nine. And today, as in the second half of the 40s of the twentieth century, Brioni also values manual labor, which is used at all stages of tailoring.

The first Brioni show took place in 1952 in Florence, Pitti Palace. In its first show, Brioni designers showcased vibrant colors and high-quality fabrics. And the crimson tuxedo attracted special attention. It is worth mentioning that today quite conservative Brioni at the beginning of its path was too bold and bright brand.

And it was Brioni that was one of the first to take to the podium. male models... Their show at the Pitti Palace, Florence, was the first ever men's fashion show. Subsequently, Brioni models, by the way, before that were called models exclusively for women, began to participate in shows in the United States, and then around the world.

Brioni had its patron, the Marquis Giovan Battista Giorgini. It is he who is considered one of the founders of modern Italian fashion, the one who removed the taint of provincialism from it, and made fashion from Italy popular in the world. It was the Marquis Giovanbattista Giorgini who organized the first show of Italian haute couture in the early 1950s. The show took place in Florence. It was attended by journalists and representatives of large stores from the United States. It was he, Giovan Battista Giorgini, who suggested that Brioni design clothing for "knights who would escort women showing off Italian fashion." The silk and combed tuxedos and jackets presented by Brioni at this show were liked by representatives of the B. Altman & Co store, which was located on New York's Fifth Avenue.

Brioni gained fame, but not so much in Europe as in the United States. They held their first show in the United States in 1954. The boutique on Via Barberini began to be visited by Americans, among whom were both rich and famous people, many Hollywood stars. In 1959, the Gentlemen's Quarterly article even called Brioni "American designers."

In 1957, Brioni began developing a collection for the American manufacturer Hess. This collection from Brioni will be called the emblem of the "Peacock Revolution". After all, the collection consisted of purple and mother-of-pearl tuxedos, shirts with little frills, pink vests, cobalt blue trousers.

But, having played enough with color, by 1977 Brioni becomes more conservative, it is more and more focused on the classic suit. The Brioni suit is becoming more and more a sign of success and respectability. Brioni has also focused on made-to-measure models from the very beginning, that is, those that are made to order and according to individual measurements. And in 1980 they even opened their own school in the city of Pene, in which all the secrets of Brioni tailoring are taught to aspiring tailors. It is in Pena that the suits from Brioni are also sewn. Brioni also has several factories, including one in Abruzzo.
