The first fashion line was launched for Yale by the Gant brothers in the 1960s, and preppy became an Ivy League staple. The popularity of the style peaked in the 1980s.

Well, a new wave of preppy popularity has come, thanks to the "bombed" TV series from the 2000s - "Gossip Girl". Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass showed us the most striking examples of style.

We are used to the fact that Preppy is an exclusively "school" style.
But now we see that this style is for everyone. Fashion designers incorporate classic preppy elements into their collections. This is not the past century, but the present.

You don't have to adhere to all the rules. No one forbids mixing styles, for example: adding your favorite jeans to a jacket in a cage, and a leather jacket to an A-line skirt.

And in the new fall-winter 2021-2022 season, Balmain and Lorenzo Serafini joined them with a chic interpretation of this style.



In its collection, Balmain introduces jeans, sports elements and delicate pink and blue colors. You can clearly see how preppy looks can be worn stylishly and modernly in everyday life.

Lacoste mixes preppy with sporty style in its collections. And we clearly see the wearability of "school" aesthetics in everyday life.



In the Alberta Feretti collection, the preppy style is played up with actual trousers and vests, complemented by headdresses and a wonderful combination of colors. These images seem to bring us back to the era of the English dandies. Super stylish.



We live in an era when "EVERYTHING" is possible, do not hesitate to experiment. If you want preppy in everyday life - it's easy, dilute with modern accessories, use a mix of styles.

If you want a relaxed look, introduce sneakers and a trendy top. More romantic, slip dress will help you out. Well, if it is more aggressive, then rough boots and a modern leather jacket will be a great option. And you definitely won't be a schoolgirl!
