Paris Fashion Week. Fall / winter 2012-2013

The big marathon is over. It ended perfectly on time, turning into a gift for the eighth of March, which in our latitudes is traditionally a women's day: a holiday of spring and beauty. The big marathon started back in February and with its progress spring came and the snow melted. The fashionable marathon started in New York, then crossed the ocean and stayed in London, turned south, to Italy and ended at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. A big marathon, which was attended by designers, models, journalists, stars crossing the oceans, flying, running, striving to have time to circle, touch, breathe this fashionable whirlwind, a whirlwind of ideas, directions, fabrics and, of course, his Majesty's creativity. Those who remained on the sidelines were also in a hurry, beyond the bounds of the whirlwind that swallowed four world capitals, they caught the lines, as if gusts of wind, altered phrases, changing them to understandable, close, relatives. Together with journalists, bloggers picked up information and impressions, and now the entire Internet without borders, without countries, without differences was full, filled, filled with the very ideas, fabrics, gossip, events. And even though it's still spring outside the window, the whole world was discussing what will be relevant in autumn and winter.

But the ball came to an end, the whirlwind that had swirled in the waltz of so many had died down. There will be more echoes - they will also be in our area: Warsaw, Kiev, Moscow, Minsk. And then everything will cease until the next whirlwind, which will come in some six months and will swirl us autumn, gray and dull in the bright colors of the coming spring and summer.

But back to the final Parisian chord. Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Christian Dior - the brightest, the most famous, the most expensive, the most brilliant, they were all here, they all introduced the world to what he was going to wear this fall and this winter.

Chanel, the legendary-legendary Chanel, for which the no less legendary and famous Karl Lagerfeld works today. The catwalks of Paris shone not only with models, but also with decorations. Chanel is no exception. The podium was decorated with bizarre crystals. There was also a place for crystal motifs on the podium: heels in the form of minerals, iridescent fabrics, holographic effects. Plus voluminous coats, origami elements on bags. Myself maestro Karl Lagerfeld wearing unchanging dark glasses ... A kind of mineral fairy tale, full of tenderness and irregular shapes, which was felt in the muted and calm colors themselves.

The house of Dior, represented by its creative director Bill Gaitten, remained true to itself and presented a rather classic collection: pencil skirts, jackets with an accentuated waist, flowing knee-length dresses. The colors are calm, muted, the base is gray. However, not without bright spots, one of which, undoubtedly, was the red dress.

Louis Vuitton as well as Chanel presented their models, creating a fairy tale. And if Chanel's fairy tale was a gentle, calm, light mysterious shine of crystals, then the fairy tale from Louis Vuitton was full of dark magic. Like the famous train from the films about the young wizard Harry Potter, a train arrived on the podium, from which at the moment when the clock struck twelve, the time of magic and fairy tales, models in huge hats with feathers and trapezoidal coats began to appear, they were always accompanied by porters carrying luggage - Louis Vuitton bags. And the very atmosphere of the show froze somewhere at the alarming turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Among the guests of such a magical show, Louis Vuitton was noticed and Sarah Jessica Parker, and Natalya Vodyanova with Antoine Arnault, the real crown prince of the empire, the empire of fashion, and Catherine Deneuve.

Paris Fashion Week Nina Ricci

The collection from Nina Ricci looked vintage and feminine: an abundance of linen motifs, translucent fabrics, fur boas and collars, long gloves to the elbow. Calm colors - burgundy, pale pink, lilac.

Yohji Yamamoto presented a combination of black with a bright red accent. The key element of the AF Vandevorst collection are black hats, which are proposed to be worn pulled over the forehead, practically closing their eyes, or even better, additionally wrapping their face with a scarf. A sort of "gangster" style.
Ann Demeulemeester shocked with hairstyles - antennas, arrow hairstyles combined with dark strict silhouettes, long leather boots, long gloves.
On the other hand, the Kenzo collection was quite light, fun and playful.
John Galliano impressed with fantastic hats and a special lightness, tenderness of color. And some of his models were somewhat reminiscent of a "puss in boots".

Ricardo Tisci, creative director at Givenchy, focused on leather: shorts, trousers, jackets and dresses - everything was made from it. And the addition was flowing silk, satin, velvet and chiffon, not without fur. Colors, both dark and bright red, orange.

Alexander McQueen also created their own fairy tale, presenting models on the catwalk in the form of flowers, large, fluffy, fur flowers: from bright red to pale pink and black.

The final chord traditionally turned out to be the brightest, the most memorable, the most brilliant, the most diverse and multifaceted, however, one should not forget that this is how it should be, that it should be so, because “Paris is fashion, and fashion is Paris ".
