Nigel Barker was born on April 27, 1972. Born in London, UK, but has American and Sri Lankan roots that betray a particular originality in his appearance. Nigel's family had five more children - brothers and sisters from three different marriages of his parents. He studied at the Briston school, he was especially good at physics, chemistry and biology, Nigel even wanted to become a doctor.

But here the family vocation made itself felt, and the family vocation was fashion. After all, Nigel's mother in her youth received the title of "Miss Sri Lanka". It was in the person of the mother that the family vocation, as well as the desire for beauty, made itself felt. Nigel's mother invited him to participate in the television selection of models for the 'Clothes Show'. Nigel's participation in this show was successful, he reached the finals and, in fact, it was from this moment that his career in the fashion world begins, but just not as a photographer, but model... Nigel Barker worked as a model for about ten years, participating in shows in London, Milan, Paris and New York.

But, as you know, the career of a model is not durable, short-lived and fleeting except in rare cases, and Nigel decides to take up photography. Nigel opened his studio 'StudioNB' in Manhattan in the Meat Packing area. In addition to appearing on the Next Top Model series, Nigel Barker has also worked on other television projects, such as the executive producer of The Shot, a reality photography contest.

Since 1999 Nigel Barker has been married to Cristen Chin, she is a model, the "face" of "CoverGirl". They have two children - their names are Jack and Jasmine. Nigel Barker lives with his family in New York.
