What attracts everyone to clothes that were originally conceived as work clothes?

The denim style immediately fell in love with the young. And now, when everyone is wearing them, each of us feels young and perky, and every woman - slim, athletic, with rather seductive shapes, emphasized by tight-fitting jeans. And it doesn't matter that some of the volumes do not correspond to the models, the main thing is how we feel when wearing jeans.

Levis jeans and Denim clothing style

The history of jeans tells us that the original model (Authentic) with five pockets was created by Levi Strauss (originally Loeb), who moved from Bavaria to America as an 18-year-old boy with his mother and sisters. It was here that he opened a trousers sewing workshop in 1853. These pants were designed for gold miners, cowboys and sugarcane workers. The trousers were made of rough teak in a natural color with five “wobbling” buttons (Button fly) and copper rivets on the pockets.

However, the rivets did not appear immediately. In 1872, Jacob Davis, a tailor from Nevada, proposed to Strauss his own method of attaching pockets, which were not entirely strong in the initial sewing. They were copper rivets. In 1873, the first riveted jeans appeared. Then they began to paint them in a dark blue color - the color of Indigo.

The iconic 501 jeans are made from denim (the iconic denim fabric) sourced in North Carolina. By the way, about the denim standard - this fabric has a twill weave direction diagonally up to the right and down to the left. Why should I be reminded of this? Because all other fabrics, even if they are Indigo dyed, are not denim. In addition, a red thread runs along the edge of real denim, and it is clearly visible on the white edge of denim. In classic denim, the warp thread is dyed with an intense blue color, the weft thread is not dyed.

Now there is a wide variety of not only jeans models, but also different colored denims. As for the five pockets in classic Levi's jeans, in the original model they were placed in this way - two pockets in the back, two in the front, and a small pocket for a watch sewn into the right front pocket. In the 60s, Levi's launched jeans with Sta Prest ("with an eternal arrow"). Polyester is added to the fabric, which makes it possible to make the arrow "eternal" by baking.

And yet, the legend tells that the cut of the trousers loved by everyone was borrowed from Italian sailors, and they owe their name to the port of Genoa (Genova). And only then Levi Strauss made work pants with copper rivets out of them.

And in a small German town, the house in which the family lived has been preserved since then. In memory of the inventor of jeans, the beams and shutters of the house were painted indigo. The Museum was opened there in 2000.
