The scent of the heliotrope flower in perfumery

When autumn begins, many of the gardeners and gardeners find it difficult to part with the flowers that they love, especially those that will not withstand the winter cold and will die. In our northern country, even in the southern regions, some perennials are grown as annuals. And then many of us bring our favorites in pots and admire them on the windowsills or in the winter gardens.

Perhaps among such non-living ones we have - one of our favorite flowers is heliotrope.

Heliotrope flower

Its name comes from the Greek words "helios" - the sun and "tropos" - turn. The inflorescences of some heliotrope species constantly turn towards the sun. The homeland of these fragrant flowers is Peru. Most of all types of heliotrope are poisonous. In southern countries, heliotrope grows as a perennial plant in the form of a shrub 40-60 cm high, sometimes even higher. The shrub is not high, but its crown is branched and spreading. Leaves are short-peaked, dark green or with a purple tint. And numerous small, forget-me-not-like flowers are collected in inflorescences, which reach a diameter of 10 - 20 cm. Lilac or blue, purple or white, they carry a wonderful aroma, so bees and butterflies constantly graze on heliotrope flowers.
