Perfume White lilac

1946 - 1947 life is gradually improving in Leningrad, people and factories are returning from evacuation. And the Lenjet factory begins production of its perfumery products, mainly soaps and colognes. Then the young perfumers B.L. Gutsait and I.G. Wolfson proposes to create a new floral scent. Floral fragrances have always been popular in Russian perfumery.

The new perfume had a deep, mysterious and familiar scent to every Russian heart - the smell of lilacs. They were named "White Lilac". The main components were scented synthetic substances. The fragrance was released by the Northern Lights factory in a separate bottle in a box and in a surprise set. It was a whole event in Soviet life. After all, only three years have passed since the lifting of the blockade of Leningrad. The experienced suffering was still acutely felt ... and suddenly the familiar smell of the Russian garden - the smell of freshness and the smell of the triumph of spring and life. "White lilac" over a devastated but victorious country.

The spirits fell in love with everyone. They could be felt everywhere, they were a massive success. However, the members of the Council of Perfume thought quite differently. They tried to do everything to put the products of the perfume factory on the "right track" - they began to produce cheaper perfumes in ordinary small bottles with plastic corks and sometimes without packaging - a trial version. All this led to the disappearance of the "White Lilac". The late Soviet versions of these perfumes with the scent of lilacs no longer had anything to do with the real "White Lilac".

Lilac bushes could be seen and breathed in this spring scent in the parks of Moscow, Leningrad and other large cities of Russia, as well as in the "grandmother's" front gardens.

Unfortunately, in Europe, the White Lilac fragrance has never been recognized.
