Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff loved beautiful and fragrant lilac flowers. The romance "Lilac" written by him in his youth fascinated many. And one day, before the concert, S.V. Rachmaninov was presented with a conductor's baton, which was made of ivory, and a branch of lilac was carved on it. It was a gift from one of Rachmaninoff's fans, whom Sergei Vasilyevich himself called the White Lilac. For all concerts, the great pianist and composer was always brought a bouquet of lilacs, even the console, if Rachmaninov conducted, was removed with lilacs. When Sergei Vasilyevich left Russia forever, a branch of white lilac lay in the train compartment. Now, not far from the former Rachmaninov estate, near Tambov, musical evenings open with a lilac festival. The name of the great pianist and composer is closely associated with white lilacs. When Van Cliburn became the winner at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 1958, he took a bush of white lilacs from Russia. Now Russian lilacs bloom every year at the grave of Rachmaninoff.

Lilas de Perse - "Persian lilac" in 1889 was awarded the Great Gold Medal at the International Exhibition in Paris. The names of the best Brocard perfumes have survived in the history of perfumery: "Wonderful lilac", "New lilac". Most likely, the Russian front gardens, fragrant with lilacs, forced Brocard to return again and again to the fragrant aroma. He dedicated "Persian lilac" to his wife, faithful companion and helper.
