The Fragonard House was founded by Eugene Fuchs in 1926 in Grasse and is named after the French painter Jean Honore? Fragon? R (fr. Jean-Honor? Fragonard, 1732 - 1806), who created more than 550 paintings.

The artist first worked in the historical genre, but soon decided to follow the tastes of the era and began to write in rococo style... The heir to Boucher, Watteau, Rubens, Tiepolo, he was able to show in his images and realism, and theatricality, and sensual fullness of life.

His paintings depicted scenes of intimate life of erotic content, with a set of characters corresponding to that era. Beautiful gardeners, shepherdesses, cupids, allegorical figures are depicted with extraordinary lightness, grace and airiness, they breathe magic and poetry, music sounds in them.

Fragonard painted portraits, miniatures, decorative panels, watercolors, pastels and occasionally engraved. He became especially famous for his landscape paintings, where images of parks and alleys are depicted with a poetic perception of nature. His paintings are saturated with light, colors sometimes thicken, forming shadows, then shimmer and shine with golden, white, pink and pearl shades, from which light fills the space, and feelings are conveyed by color and plastic.

The creator of the Fragonard perfume brand, Eugene Fucha, was inspired by the splendor of the Riviera's Cote d'Azur, where he decided to sell perfumes directly to vacationers, of whom there were a great many. Quite wealthy people rested here, and it was they who could buy expensive selective perfumery.

The passion for fragrances has helped perfumers to create magnificent compositions that deserve to be included in the selective series. Therefore, the company developed rapidly and more and more fascinated discerning buyers.

When Jean-François Costa, the grandson of Eugene Fuch, became the head of the company, the activity under his leadership increased: original ideas were embodied in new fragrances, factories and a salon-museum were opened in Ise, Grasse and Paris.

Le Musee du Parfum - the design of the museum delights and overwhelms with its beauty and luxury. On the walls you can see paintings by the genius artist, after whom the perfume house is named. Today, the family business is continued by the three daughters of Jean-François Costa, who follow the tradition of the brand. Their main task is to create fragrances that can only be felt here in Provence, to feel the best aromas from different parts of the world, multifaceted scents, each facet of which is stunning with its beauty. The Fragonard brand is one of the brightest selective brands, it is known all over the world, it remains the guardian of its historical and cultural identity.
