Brogues of that time had little in common with modern models and, if the girls saw them, they would never have thought of dragging them into their wardrobe. However, the villagers were satisfied, because the practicality of the shoes was important to them first of all. Therefore, brogues did not disappear, but continued their history - peasants, farmers, cattle breeders wore these shoes for about 200 years.

Then the brogues began to undergo changes, the type of footwear was refined and improved many times over. In the process of improvement, brogues gradually acquired an almost modern look. Instead of simple disordered holes, shoemakers began to make beautiful perforations.

After some time, the updated brogues were noticed by the King of Great Britain and Ireland Edward VII - son Queen Victoria.

The king liked these shoes, but decided to improve the brogues a little more. Edward asked to leave the perforations, but to make additional lining so that the royal feet did not show through the boots.

Despite all the improvements, the brogues did not fit the king's suit very well, so he found special uses for them and made the brogues golf boots. Following the example of the king, all the high society decided that brogues were the most suitable shoes for golf. Then fashionistas from other countries drew attention to brogues, and very soon perforated shoes spread throughout the world.
