Many journalists, bloggers, and gossipers condemn fashion industry workers, especially glossy magazines and advertising campaigns, for heavily embellishing the models in their photographs. On the contrary, I like this approach to creating photographs. Why take photographs of so-called ordinary people, showing their imperfections and shortcomings, every day from morning till night we see ordinary people who are far from ideal.

Billions of photographs of ordinary people can be seen on social networks and in general everywhere on the Internet, there are so many of them that they are perceived as informational rubbish.

Therefore, gloss gives an excellent opportunity to look at ideal people, albeit unreal, but even knowing this, I get pleasure from contemplation.

For example, check out the new Elle cover - the Brazilian version for April 2015. Here we see beautiful top model Devon Windsor. In life, and even during fashion shows, she is not at all like that, and I perfectly know her real appearance, but this makes me just as pleased to look at this beautiful cover. In life, Devon Windsor is the most ordinary girl, but here photographer and stylist, makeup artist showed her in her best light.

Modern cinematography, creating historical films, remakes the history and biographies of prominent people. The directors fantasize as they please, showing this or that character as they wish or showing half-truths. So the gloss wants to show the top models in the best possible light - in the images of ideal and happy beauties. Is it bad when we are shown ideal girls and a wonderful lifestyle?

If ideal models infringe on your self-esteem and belittle your dignity, the point is not in the models and workers in the fashion industry, but in your imperfections and complexes. People who are happy and satisfied with life are not angry with magazine covers and ideal beauties from advertising companies, they look at these ideal images with pleasure, I know this from myself. Therefore, these covers act as a litmus test and show us how satisfied we are with our lives.
