Bertrand was born and raised in France in Nancy. When he was 16 years old, he moved to Paris. He did not immediately think about perfumery, interest in it arose thanks to a romantic hobby. Bertrand was in love with a girl who carried him away not only to the world of romantic feelings, but also to perfumery. It was she who introduced him to fragrances. And the world of senses and the captivating scent of aromas are linked by magical and mysterious forces.

Perfumery, as well as poetry, awakens feelings and thoughts about love, about beauty ... Then Bertrand conceived the idea of ​​perfumery. But only after a long time, he comes to Grasse already a 25-year-old young man who graduated from the universities of Marseille and Lyon.


Bertrand wanted to go to a perfumery school, but he was not welcomed there with open arms, but was offered first to work in a factory in Grasse. This is a very sensible proposal, because there should be a proven person in the art of perfumery. It seemed to Bertrand that without friendly help it was impossible for him to get a job in the perfumery industry.


The road to this exciting profession turned out to be difficult for him. But still, the opportunity to attend perfume courses presented itself to him. This was followed by the first experience, which was associated with the companies Lautier-Florasynth, Symrise and Cr? Ations Aromatiques.

Working day after day on fragrances, Bertrand felt that there was not enough freedom in his work. He was not at all comfortable with creating fragrances depending on the marketing and commercial structure.


Since 2007, Bertrand Duchaufour has opened his own small business, where he did not have to limit himself within the budget, where he can afford to experiment and use the ingredients that his creative flair suggests. He becomes an independent perfumer.


There are many favorite components that Bertrand Duchaufour often includes in his fragrances, but most of all the perfumer prefers the aromas of iris, tuberose, patchouli, mimosa, pink pepper, incense, rose, as well as woody notes.


Like many other perfumers, Bertrand Duchaufour loves to travel, because it is during travel that you can see, feel, understand and think a lot, and of course, find inspiration for new masterpieces. And he creates fragrances that bring feelings of joy, pleasure, admiration to perfume fans. There are a lot of them. But let's name at least some of them.

With the help of Bertrand Duchaufour, the history of Eau d'Italie perfumery began. He created enchanting fragrances for Eau d'Italie.


The owners of the Eau d'Italie perfume line, the Sersale family, turned their 18th century family palazzo into a luxury hotel, which opened its doors to guests in 1951. They have created a fabulously beautiful and cozy fashionable five-star hotel, where an atmosphere of sophistication, warmth and comfort reigns. And in honor of the 50th anniversary of the hotel "Le Sirenuse" in 2001, they decided to release a line of rare fragrances, which would embody the unique spirit of the Italian resort of Positano - an old town on the Amalfi coast.


The owners of the hotel - Marina Sersale and Sebastian Alvarez Murena invited Bertrand Duchaufour to create the fragrances. In 2004, the first fragrance Eau d'Italie was released, in which you can hear the breath of the light sea breeze of the legendary city of Positano, shrouded in myths and legends, the scent of flowering orange trees, bergamot, the sensual scent of magnolia and black currant.


For Eau D'Italie, Duchaufour created some of the best fragrances: citrus-spicy Baume du Doge, fresh and delicate aroma Jardin du Poete, romantic Magnolia Romana; expressive and rich Paestum Rose; sophisticated and elegant Sienne l'Hiver.
