Andre TAY is a Russian pop artist, cultural figure, member of the Russian Academy of Education, title holder of the Star of RU-net-2013. The performer spoke about the upcoming project, about the fashion in his life and left his parting words to the young musicians.



Let's start our conversation with the question of charity. You are a supporter of charity events. How did you come to this and what does charity mean to you?

- It is not in my first interview that I say that any person, and even more so an artist, as a public person should pay attention to charity. For a long time I have been participating in all kinds of charitable events that help support those in need. For me, charity means doing good for the benefit of people in need of support. My creative team and I are planning to organize a charity project in the fall of this year, the details of which will be a little later, on all sorts of official sources.



What place does fashion take in your life?

- I have a peculiar attitude to fashion. For me, fashion is, first of all, a sense of style and the presence of "taste". I wear what I like and suit my appearance. On stage, of course, I prefer the classic style, be sure to wear a jacket.

You sing about childhood, but do you have children of your own?

- I don't have my own children yet, but I really love children and what is most interesting, they are drawn to me (smiles). I have a nephew to whom I am the Godfather. This is also a great responsibility, I try to set good examples.

You have most love songs, romantic person. Do you believe love at first sight?

- There will always be romance. What else to sing about if not about love? This is our future, present and past. I am already quite an adult, so I don’t believe in love at first sight, but sympathy at first sight is different. When we first see a new person in our environment, we have initial feelings, sensations, the person is either unpleasant or sympathetic to us.



The holiday season is on its way, are you going to go somewhere to relax?

- I also think it's not so simple when you have a planned concert schedule. But this year I will definitely choose a time for vacation. I haven't decided where I'm going yet, but definitely closer to the sea ...

Have you had a creative crisis during your musical career?

- When you have a goal and you are rapidly walking along the path through the thorns to the stars. This is not an easy path, and sometimes not everyone manages to go through it, someone's nerves are sore, someone does not have enough patience. I consider myself to be one of the strong-minded people. When it is difficult and not clear what will happen next, of course, at this inappropriate moment, a crisis occurs, in other words, depression. It is important to have the support of loved ones, relatives, and to decide for yourself that you want to be depressed from life or go forward in spite of any obstacles and difficulties. After going through all this, I can advise everyone, just do your favorite thing, load yourself with things and do not succumb to weaknesses.



What is your attitude towards modern music and technology?

- I prefer to stick to the golden mean in everything, everything is good when in moderation. I use gadgets, but I'm not a fan of them, you can still do without them, these are just the whims of a modern person. I use the Internet as a means of communicating with those people with whom it is impossible to meet. It is important not to lose yourself, not to lose a person, soulfulness. As far as contemporary music is concerned, the situation is dire, but of course there are exceptions. The importance of meaning in songs is lost, as in turn the rating of songs with simple sets of words and loud beats grows.But I believe that the soulful song will prevail over the "musical degradation".

Do you believe in signs, do you consider yourself to be superstitious people?

- It depends in which case. If I am preparing for some important event, and a black cat crosses the road (smiles), then in this case I would rather go around and go the other way. The main thing, as I said, is a sense of proportion everywhere. In everyday life, I don't always pay attention to signs.



Did you have to sacrifice anything for the sake of creativity?

- Our life is already arranged in such a way that if you want to achieve success in some important matter for you, then you will have to give up another good. Now I am engaged in building my career, constant concerts, meetings. Unfortunately, there is no time for a family, although the family occupies an important and main place in my life.

As a musician who has made great strides in the music industry, what would you wish for aspiring artists?

- Believe in yourself, in your strength. Decide what you want from your life, set a goal and go towards it no matter what. Trust only yourself and your heart. And never change your dream.
