And as Clive Christian himself says - he was not going to achieve such a result, he just wanted to create a wonderful fragrance that would return the former glory of the British company Crown Perfumery. Clive Christian bought this company in 1999, and it was founded back in 1872.

However, the history of the company begins in 1840, when William Sparks Thomson opened his own production in England, though not yet perfumery, but corsetry. His business was so successful that soon Queen Victoria herself became one of his clients. This encouraged him even more, and he continued to work harder and harder. At that time, and even earlier, it was fashionable among ladies to faint, thereby emphasizing their effeminate nature. What can you do, it was necessary to react somehow. And how can you not react if lady, tightly pulled into a corset, lies in a "deep swoon". Here the so-called smelling salts came to the rescue. Little by little, the company began to produce fragrances, most of them based on lavender. As you know, the British simply adore the smell of lavender.

And besides this, Thomson's son turned out to be an excellent chemist. All this led to the fact that perfumery production arose as an accompanying corset one. In order to recognize the company as successful in perfumery, I had to work hard for several more years. And finally, in 1872, they started talking about her. For 50 years, the company has released about 50 fragrances for women and men. Exciting, fragrant aromas of the company were appreciated by many famous people of that time. Among them were aromascreated for individuals, inspired by their image. The aromas of magical power and charm remain in the memory of history: Crown Ess Bouquet, Sarcanthus, Matsukita, Malabar. The company produced both toothpaste and other hygiene products.

Fans of Crown Perfumery were such famous people as King Edward VII Wallace Simpson, Austrian Empress Elizabeth, Charlie Chaplin, Greta Garbo and others.
But after Thomson's death, the company's affairs began to deteriorate, and political and economic events at the beginning of the twentieth century led it to the fact that the company was closed in 1939.

When Clive Christian, an English millionaire and furniture manufacturer, bought the company, he challenged perfumers to not think about money, but to create the most luxurious, most beautiful fragrance in the world.

“Crown is the first perfume company I bought,” said Clive Christian. “I have always admired its history. Yes, we are discontinuing all the old fragrances, but I will honor the traditions of the old Crown house and enrich them with new ideas. "

It took several years for a new idea, but a bright sparkling scent went down in the history of perfumery
like a multifaceted diamond. The aroma is enclosed in bottle of 500 ml, which is made of crystal "baccarat" with a gold rim and set with a 5 carat white diamond. The aroma consists of the rarest ingredients, some of which are known to us, for example, Indian sandal, which is obtained by a rather complicated, and therefore expensive, method, vanilla from the island of Tahiti and many others, which remain the secret of the company.

Fashion is changeable, but fragrances like Imperial Majesty are timeless. They will always beautify our lives.
