Norwegian Princess Mette-Marit

A princess must be perfect in everything. And most importantly externally. All of us, one way or another, can say that the main thing is the inner world, but for some reason flipping through the notes about famous people, one way or another for many, very many, this caustic language breaks off - "how ugly she is", "And this mascara does not suit her", or "phew, well, she dressed up in a dress." On the other hand, we can talk about the high cost of clothes, "well, too much, you need to be more modest", or vice versa - about simplicity - "wow, what she wore, with her money." But not only the layman likes to bite, the press also bites, knowing that this will bring her a rating.

The Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit always got it.

More recently, at the beginning of February this year, Oslo Fashion Week was held in Oslo. And as part of this event, the Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit was awarded a prize for promoting Norwegian fashion design. Mette-Marit has a really special relationship with Norwegian designers, as she is in particular a patron of the Norwegian Council of Designers. However, the press immediately recalled her love and not for the domestic designer, but for Valentinoby writing, covering this event, "Ask what the friend of the princess, the designer of Valentino, thinks about this." So it was in a dress from Valentino that Princess Mette-Marit appeared in December 2011 at one of the banquets: she was seen in a long dress with a chiffon top from the spring / summer 2011 collection, she also appeared in a white knee-length dress from the fall 2010 collection, also from Valentino. Actually, Princess Mette-Marit was also criticized for her love of expensive designer dresses, because at a concert in Oslo dedicated to the Nobel Prize in December 2011 she appeared in a dress from Emilio Pucci from the fall 2011 collection, the approximate cost of which is 2 597 euros.

The press reproached the Norwegian princess for immodesty, especially during the economic crisis, and set her up as an example of Kate Middleton, who usually buys clothes of a more democratic brand Zara or the example of the Danish Crown Princess Mary, who, although she wears designer clothes, is exclusively from Danish brands - Malene Birger and DAY Birger et Mikkelsen.

But not only for too luxurious outfits, Princess Mette-Marit was criticized, she was also criticized for the fact that she once went on a plane on one of the visits with her husband and a one-year-old child, dressed in a simple sweater and jeans. Well, flying on airplanes, and even with a small child in elegant suits, would not be handy. But the press chose not to pay attention to this, because a princess must always be perfect.

However, the story of Mette-Marit is really the story of Cinderella, and Cinderella, to which her own subjects initially reacted rather coolly.

Mette-Marit was born on August 19, 1973 into an ordinary family. Her father was a journalist, her mother was a bank clerk. When Mette-Marit was 11 years old, her parents divorced. Before meeting the heir to the Norwegian throne, Crown Prince Haakon, she worked first as a waitress and then as a saleswoman in a clothing store. She managed to give birth to a son - Marcus, with whose father, Morten Borg, she was never married, and soon they broke up altogether. Some time later, Morten Borg was arrested on drug trafficking charges, which will also negatively affect the reputation of Mette-Marit after she met the prince. Her former lovers will appear more than once, eager to find glory in the press.

Mette-Marit met Prince Haakon in 1999 at a music festival in her native Kristiansand. Their wedding took place on August 25, 2001. Today they have two children - the eldest daughter Ingrid, the heiress to the Norwegian throne, and a son.

Mette-Marit became the second wife of a non-blue-blooded crown prince in the history of Norway, the current queen of Norway, Sonya, became the first girl from an ignoble family on the royal throne, perhaps, and therefore, in the royal family itself, Mette-Marit was treated quite well and tried to help her in everything. ... After Mette-Marit became hereditary princess, she studied at the University of Oslo, the Higher School of Economics in Oslo, and the University of London. She is actively involved in charity work, supporting not only Norwegian designers, but she is also a Special Representative of the Joint UN Program on HIV / AIDS.

In one of her interviews, Mette-Marit noticed that she learned not to pay attention to what they write and say about her, because “she is she,” and what others write about her is just their speculation, which in no way refer to her.

As far as fashion is concerned, as you've probably already noticed, Princess loves expensive designer clothes, she also often attends fashion shows, Mette-Marit described her attitude to fashion in a 2010 interview with the Norwegian magazine Natt & Dag as follows: “Yes, I try to follow fashion trends, especially those that are developing here in Norway. I think it's important to support new designers who are working on an industrial scale. But, at the same time, I made a conscious choice - I want to be appreciated not only by the way I am dressed. "

“And if there is one thing that all girls should remember, it is that content is more important than form. This is especially important in modern society, with its high demands, ”says the Crown Princess, who is afraid to fly and always feels awkward, because she stumbles so often.
