Mario Sorrenti is a famous fashion photographer, he is famous for the brevity, simplicity and candor of his photographs. They say about him that he is a photographer who undresses.

Mario was born on October 24, 1971 in Naples, Italy, but when he was ten years old, his family moved to America. In addition to him, Mario's family had two more children - a sister and a younger brother. It was Mario's younger brother, David Sorrenti, who first made the Sorrenti surname famous in the fashion world. David has been fond of photography since childhood. And it was David Sorrenti who in the early 1990s laid the foundation for a new direction in photography, the so-called "heroin chic" - overly thin models with emaciated white faces appeared in his photographs. But David did not have time to catch his success, because success came to him after death. David Sorrenti died at the age of twenty.

Mario, like his younger brother, was also fond of photography. He began photographing while David was still alive, but success would come to him much later.

The first serious experience for Mario Sorrenti was shooting an advertising campaign for Calvin Klein Obsession perfume. His model and his girlfriend became the now famous, and then a novice model Kate moss... Kate was seventeen at the time, Mario was twenty. The shooting took place on the island, only a photographer and a model took part in them, there were no makeup artists or stylists on the island.

The photo session became very bright and sincere, but not only Mario photographed Kate, Kate herself also tried herself as a photographer and took some candid pictures of Mario Sorrenti, in which he appeared as a talented model and a handsome man.

We can say that Mario Sorrenti and Kate Moss laid the foundation for their success together, but their paths were different, and their paths soon parted ways. In 2011, Mario and Kate will meet again, starring together for the cover of Purple Fashion Magazine. In the same 2011, but already as a photographer, Mario worked on the creation of the famous Pirelli calendar.

Mario also worked for such magazines as Vogue, W and Harper's Bazaar, shot advertising campaigns for Emporio Armani, Calvin Klein, Lanc? Me, Paco Rabanne, Mango, Omega, Benetton and many other equally famous brands. He worked with such models as Gisele Bündchen, Mila Jovovich, Naomi Campbell, Daria Verbova.

In 2004, an exhibition of his work was held at the New York Museum of Modern Art. Mario Sorrenti is married and has two children. Inspiration, according to the photographer himself, he draws from travel and works of art.
