Fashion blogger Maga MGD: men's view of fashion

In our section of interviews, fashion bloggers have become frequent guests: girls from different countries, who write about fashion, who are fond of fashion, who know almost everything about it. But fashion is completely in vain, traditionally considered a topic that only the beautiful half of humanity is fond of, men write about fashion, and they write just wonderful.

Today we will talk about the male look at fashion with fashion blogger Maga Umkhaev. A journalist by training, a magician, but his real hobby was the world of fashion.

1. Magician, why fashion? Why is fashion interesting for you?

Since childhood, I had a special feeling for clothes and fabrics, because as a child, staying with my grandmother on weekends, we cut with her. For me it was a fascinating process from shading with a bar of soap to the sound of a Singer machine working. I cannot boast of an impeccable style, but it is always interesting to contemplate this or that phenomenon in fashion from the inside.

2. Usually fashion is considered a hobby for women, girls, and among bloggers writing about fashion, men are rare. How does a man's view of fashion differ from a woman's? Is there a difference?

What is considered by the masses is an imposed stereotype. If you have a desire to write and share what you like, then why limit yourself? And gender differences have nothing to do with it, especially since we feel or look at certain things differently. There are a lot of male bloggers who write about fashion.

3. Should men follow fashion? What is the difference between men's fashion and women's fashion?

A man, at the very least, should look neat. You can't keep up with fashion, and there is no point in this, since this is a momentary phenomenon. The whole mainstream is interesting only for a couple of appearances. Expressing your own style is much more fun than copying a catwalk total look. And the difference between women's and men's clothing, abstracting from prejudices, for a start, is on which side the shirt strap is fastened and the "codpiece" is sewn.

4. Which of the designers, perhaps both Western and Russian, are you interested in?

I am interested in those who know how to play what is called fashion and do not strive to reinvent the wheel from season to season. There are undisputed geniuses, like Alexander McQueen or John Galliano, whose work you can admire endlessly. To say that someone likes more and someone less, in my opinion, is not entirely correct, since in the collections of many designers you can sometimes find something of your own.

5. Your motto for life.

Keep it simple!
