How to choose the right lipstick?

For a long time, bright, juicy lips have been an extremely attractive factor for men and a real weapon of seduction for women.
Correctly selected lipstick is capable of extraordinarily beautifying the face - making it brighter, or vice versa, softer. However, it is not at all easy to sort out among the jars and tubes offered to us in abundance, and even more so, to ideally choose the color that suits you.

How to choose the right lipstick

Lipstick types

So, let's figure out what types of lipstick there are and how to choose the right one.

In appearance, lipstick is matte and glossy. Matte lipstick provides a rich, even tone without shine. Glossy lipstick with gloss visually adds volume to the lips and better masks cracks and lip relief.

According to the method of action on the lips, lipstick is divided into persistent, nourishing and moisturizing. The latter is the lightest, as it is created on a lightweight, non-greasy basis. It has a natural moist sheen, as a rule, it fits well on the skin of the lips, but also rinses off just as well. Nourishing lipstick is known to have a richer, more greasy consistency. Persistent lipstick is the longest-lasting of all types, but since it is mainly designed to provide long-term color retention, compared to the rest, it loses its caring properties: it often dries the skin of the lips and can cause discomfort. It is not recommended to use it every day.

According to the intensity of coloring pigments, there are lipstick, gloss, hygienic lipstick. As we already know, the most intense color is provided directly by lipstick. Lip gloss has a thinner consistency and less color pigments. Hygienic lipstick, as a rule, is completely colorless and is designed, first of all, to care for the lips. Often, hygienic lipstick can be a good base for lip makeup.

Which lipstick is right for you

Which lipstick is right for you?

In this section, we'll provide some helpful tips for choosing the type of lipstick. If you have narrow lips, it is better to refuse matte lipstick, as it will visually narrow them even more. For girls with dry lips, it is better to choose a moisturizing, caring lipstick. Gloss applied both separately and on top of lipstick can significantly enlarge your lips, give them volume, seduction and sensuality. Long-lasting lipstick is best used only in exceptional cases, if you do not want to dry out the delicate skin of the lips. When choosing a lipstick, you must, first of all, look not at a beautiful tube, but at its composition. It should contain a significant amount of emollient oils, vitamins and caring components, should be free of zinc and heavy metals, and should not contain too many preservative parabens (the optimal amount is two).

Don't buy lipstick too cheap! There is nothing worse than lips roughly smeared with low-quality paint, which look unnatural and cheap, and lipstick, moreover, constantly rolls into lumps and collects in the corners of the lips.

Choosing the color of lipstick

We select the color

After we have decided on the type of lipstick that will best suit our lips, now we will decide on its color. The first condition is that the lipstick should be in harmony with the skin tone. If you have it in a very light, porcelain shade, it is advisable to avoid too bright and at the same time too pale tones. Both those and others will look too unnatural on fair skin. Owners of dark skin should not be afraid of such a contrast and, on the contrary, avoid neutral tones that will merge with their skin color.

The second rule is that lipstick should be in harmony with hair color. Brunettes and brown-haired women, as a rule, go with warm red and pink lipsticks.Lipsticks in bright, but cold tones (for example, fuchsia, purple, pale pink) are most suitable for girls with blond and blond hair. Red-haired girls all shades of gold and brick colors go very well. Neutral, delicate tones - peach, coral, light pink, etc., are extremely suitable for bright blondes.

How to apply lipstick correctly

How to apply lipstick correctly

We apply correctly

In order for the lipstick to always lie well, the lips must be prepared in advance. First of all, they should be clean and smooth. It is best to first apply a soft, but not too oily base under the lipstick. The effect of clearly defined lips is not always good, and therefore lip liner does not have to be used for every day. It is best applied with soft, natural lines. The color of the lip pencil must be chosen to match the lipstick, or one or two shades darker. The pencil line should not recede from the lip contour by more than 1 mm up or down, otherwise the face will look unnatural. You should start applying lipstick from the upper lip, carefully highlighting the incision of the lips, and then properly distribute the color in the middle, and then, along the lower lip. After that, you need to repeat everything again (ideally, you should get two thin, even layers). To add volume, you can apply lighter lipstick or lip gloss to the middle of the lips.
