Social network choice and mentality

I warn you right away, this review does not claim to fully disclose the essence of social networks. Here we will not even consider all social networks, but we will only compare two social networks - American facebook and Russian Vkontakte.

Why is that? Why are we not considering the Odnoklassniki social network? Do you often see the quotation of messages from Odnoklassniki? Vkontakte, facebook and LJ are often cited and mentioned in all media outlets, and with regards to Odnoklassniki, they are simply mentioned, in the sense that such a network exists, and nothing more.

So, Vkontakte and facebook, which social network is better and how do they differ?

In some environment, there is an opinion that Vkontakte is inhabited only by youngsters and people from the lower social strata. In fact, this is not the case, there are really many minors on Vkontakte, but in addition to them, there are users 20-25 years old and older. This means active users who regularly visit, read messages, refresh the page.

With regards to financial well-being, Vkontakte can be found absolutely all segments of the population. Today the Internet is available to everyone, the main thing is to have a desire to access it. Therefore, even schoolchildren from low-income families can start Vkontakte pages, but this does not at all prevent wealthy teenagers and more adult wealthy people from having a page on the social network.

In fact, the social network Vkontakte is an incomplete reflection of our real society - all the people we see on the streets of Russian cities, we can also meet them on Vkontakte. Only the behavior of people in a social network is different than in real life. They spend different amounts of time, but the bottom line is that Vkontakte is a popular social network and its popularity will never fade away, for some reason.

A bold forecast, but there are reasons for this, and we will now consider them in order.

Initially, a social network should make it possible to find your friends, classmates, relatives and simply interesting people, many of whom are removed and the opportunity to see them is available only on the network. The second purpose of the network is to show off and show off. To be honest, most of us love to brag about our achievements, new purchases, happiness in our personal life, travel to exotic countries. By uploading photos to a social network, we get this opportunity.

There are other interesting points that a social network can give, this is job search, thematic communication in special groups and communities, receiving news about events and sales, and much more.

That's how much Vkontakte is, but that's not all, there is still very interesting content that will always be relevant as long as our civilization exists.

As you know, all people in varying degrees love entertainment - bread and circuses were shouted 2000 years ago in ancient Rome! 2,000 years later, the world has changed a lot, but entertainment is still important to people. Music, movies, video clips, home videos, the best recorded programs, all this can be found on the Vkontakte social network.

American record companies and film studios want to receive financial rewards for their products. Every movie, every piece of music costs money. If you download them using the Apple store on your iPhone, you will have to pay for everything. The social network Vkontakte allows all users to upload any video and music, and other users can use it. Thanks to this freedom, the social network Vkontakte has become a giant repository of music and video.

These are the capabilities of Vkontakte and now let's move on to examining facebook, why it is better and what capabilities it has.

The social network facebook is of American origin, so it strictly complies with the laws of the United States, which means that free video, music cannot be found there. What is left? Communication, personal photos, subscription to updates of your favorite sites and characters. True, facebook is not widespread in Russia and there you can find far from all classmates, relatives and friends. The difference between facebook is that supposedly the most cultured and wealthy part of the population lives there.

This is a myth, facebook is an English-language network with very limited capabilities, which began to be used in the wake of opposition sentiments that are very strong in Russia. True, the euphoria and bright dreams of the Russian opposition will quickly pass, or rather, they are already fading away, and at the same time the enthusiasm for LJ and facebook blogs will decline, because in fact the main reason for creating Facebook accounts was the denial of everything Russian, for the sake of the American. There are no other real benefits to facebook. Is it just that there are accounts of many stars. Just what's the point? The stars will not correspond with some Vasya from Saransk or Petya from Moscow, which is essentially the same for them. Therefore, the current facebook users will play enough with their pages and will forget this page of their lives. Life goes on, everything changes, the real world is full of worries and entertainment, and facebook is nothing more than a fashionable curious toy, which, unlike our Russian Vkontakte, cannot provide any free films and music, but only an imaginary involvement in the creative opposition movement, which supposedly makes the future of the country. They do not do anything and do not decide while sitting on facebook, they only kill time ...

And Vkontakte will live and prosper, since Russians in the foreseeable future will not want to pay for music and films, which can be obtained for free. Is this good or bad? To say that this is the mentality of our multinational country? Many nationalities live in Russia, and not only Russians, but also foreigners use Vkontakte, they listen to music and videos with the same pleasure, because all people love gifts - free of charge.
