Love and respect for parents

At all times it was said that today's youth are not what they used to be, they no longer respect the elderly, there is no respect and love for their parents. The reason for such judgments was the difference in views - the worldview of the older and newer generations. Even in the olden days, when the world was more stable and change took place slowly, there was a generation gap.

In our time, changes are developing rapidly, which means that the gap between generations is increasing, hence the lack of understanding by children of their parents and vice versa. Love and respect for parents are important and are the key to a happy family, but the reality is that today's child does not need to ask dad or mom any question, because there is a smartphone, a computer and the Internet, where Google, Yandex and encyclopedias will give a clear answer to any question ... Therefore, children do not need to ask mom or dad as they used to, they already know everything, and they know better than mom or dad, and if a teenager knows better, then the misunderstanding increases, which diminishes love and respect for parents.

This is the main reason for the growing misunderstanding between generations, and not at all that children have become worse.

How to avoid misunderstanding with children, how to achieve love and understanding? Parents need to keep up with the times, they need to broaden their horizons, understand modern technologies and trends, actively use the Internet and be versatile.

Otherwise, such a situation may arise as with one of my acquaintances, whose name I will not name, but the essence is as follows - he has a daughter of 15 years old, he loves to tell how clever he is. Although he is a lazy person, a drinker and in general is a vivid embodiment of a talker - a loser. Only he is a kind, cheerful, outgoing loser, spending time in amusement and entering good companies, where there are many successful and creative people.

In one of the meetings, he talked about his daughter, and I wanted to ask a question - I wonder, does your daughter respect you?

- Of course he does! And what else, he wondered.

A little time passed and I accidentally had the opportunity to see them together with my daughter. It turned out that he was greatly mistaken or did not want to betray the truth, but his daughter treats him extremely dismissively, although the daughter herself is really an exemplary girl - an excellent student, knows English perfectly, knows what to want from life and strives for it.

The essence of this story is that for love and respect it is not always enough to have the closest family ties, you also need to lead a decent lifestyle so that the teenager respects you for your deeds and beliefs.

Initially, all children have love for their parents, but respect must be earned. If you lead an unworthy lifestyle, then you can forget about respect for the child, and eventually lose love. Parents raising a child should understand this, because parents are obviously more mature and experienced, and accordingly they have much more responsibility for what kind of relationship there will be between them and their children, which will affect their whole life in the future.
