Natural scrubs at home

What is the first step to glowing skin? Regular exfoliation is an important part of your skin care system. How is this possible when there is not enough time, and maybe money? You can achieve the same results as in the spa with a little effort at home, cost-effectively, naturally and with zero preservatives.

There are two types of exfoliators - abrasive and non-abrasive. They contain alpha and beta hydroxy acids. They exfoliate by dissolving the topmost layer of dead cells. This is glycolic acid obtained from sugar cane, lactic acid - from yogurt, tartaric acid - from grapes, malic acid, obtained not only from apples, but also from citrus fruits. Having familiarized yourself with these ingredients that make up exfoliating products, you will notice that all this can be used today and now, just look in the refrigerator.

Abrasive exfoliators remove dead cells by physical friction, such as particles from crushed fruit pits, seeds, salt, sugar.

Non-abrasive products remove dead cells only by dissolving.

When exfoliating, you can use two approaches with both abrasive and delicate products.

Natural scrubs at home

You need to know that abrasive products, even if they are natural, should not be used on skin prone to irritation or having some kind of inflammation, as well as sunburn. Otherwise, the inflammation can only intensify.

Abrasive scrubs are best if your skin is bumpy or flaky with no visible irritation. These products can be used after removing makeup. You can use the scrubs weekly in your home spa treatments, before applying a nourishing, brightening or deep cleansing mask.

If your skin is prone to acne, it is best to use non-abrasive scrubs. There are plenty of delicate exfoliators to use on a daily basis. These include exfoliating creams and lotions. They contain crushed oat bran, corn flour, very fine saline or granulated sugar. The fine particles are usually saturated with a mixture of oil or beeswax. Therefore, the risk of damaging the skin is minimal. Non-abrasive natural exfoliators can be part of your daily skincare routine.

Best time to apply a scrub - immediately after a shower or while taking a bath.

The scrub should be applied in small circular movements in different directions, do not rub hard, bypass the most sensitive areas (around the eyes, lips). The scrub can be left on the skin for a short time to act as a mask, then rinse with warm water.

When you take a bath, add a drop of jasmine or cedar nut oil, you will feel not only a pleasant smell, the oils help the pores to open.

After the first use, you will feel that your skin is coming back to life.

After exfoliation, the skin will be even more refreshed and revitalized with a clay-based mask that deeply unclogs the pores opened with the scrub.

Now let's take a look at how do you know if an exfoliator is right for you? If there is slight redness, this is normal with chemical lotions. But if you still feel a burning sensation or your skin looks suspicious in your opinion, you should immediately wash off this product and treat it with a proven soothing tonic. Instead of a tonic, you can brew green tea, moisten a napkin with it and make a compress for your face, lie down and relax. If irritation persists for a day or two, see a doctor immediately.
