EIGHT & BOB fragrance for real men

Each fragrance has its own history, which is created by the perfumer, using different shades of fragrant notes. However, when we meet with them, we perceive them differently, and sometimes we compose our own story. But there are scents around which non-fictional, but real stories are created.

They lead behind them the memories of events, years gone by, people who came into contact with them. And that is why such aromas seem to us even more amazing and interesting. And even without knowing them, we would like to get in touch with them, to feel ourselves close to those events and people. Today I would like to recall one such fragrance, the amazing history of which has been forgotten for a long time.

The exciting story of EIGHT & BOB cologne

Albert Fouquet (Albert Fouquet) was a passionate lover and perfume connoisseur, which he created for personal use. All fragrant compositions were distinguished by their sophistication, and he often surprised everyone around him who was part of his social circle. The fragrances were so delicious that many advised Albert to open his own perfume company.

To open such a business would have required significant expenses from the outset. But he belonged to the elite of French society and was sufficiently wealthy, so it was not difficult for him to open his own line of perfumery. However, Albert did not agree with these proposals, and continued to compose his compositions within the walls of his luxurious family castle. Fouquet's only assistant was his butler Philip. The fragrances embodied all his dreams and desires.

Once, while vacationing on the Cote d'Azur in 1937, Albert Fouquet met a young man, he turned out to be an American student named John F. Kennedy. In a few minutes they were very friendly to each other. Kennedy was captivated by this scent, and Fouquet told him about his passion. But if the fragrance was created by the one who wears it, then why not ask him for a sample of the captivating perfume.

An attractive sense of humor and a charming smile convinced Fouquet to leave a sample of his cologne. It happened at the time of parting. So the next morning at the hotel, along with a bottle of cologne, Albert Fouquet left a note: "In this bottle you will find a bit of French glamor that your American personality lacks."

The exciting story of EIGHT & BOB

A friendly and smiling American soon sent a response letter to Fouquet, in which he not only thanked for his generosity, but at the same time made a new request - to send him eight more samples of this cologne for his friends and acquaintances, as well as for his brother Bob. Philip helped him find beautiful glass bottles, and Albert pasted labels on them - "EIGHT & BOB" ("Eight and Bob").

But after a while, letters from the USA poured in to him, which were with the same request - to send, send, send ... the cologne he liked. Most of the petitioners were Hollywood directors, producers and actors, including the popular at the time Cary Grant and James Stewart - the embodiment of masculinity and charm. It was Cary Grant, according to Ian Fleming's stories, who was chosen by him as the prototype of Agent 007 (James Bond).

It would seem that the career of a perfumer is about to begin, no longer just an amateur, but recognized in the world perfumery industry. But as it all began quickly, it ended instantly. Albert Fouquet died in 1939 in a car accident near Biarritz, France.

Philip, his butler, only he could continue what he had begun. This continued for several more months. But then the Second World War began.Everything was stopped, Philip hid the remaining bottles inside the books, in which he cut holes so that the creations of Albert Fouquet would not go to the Nazis.

Decades passed, and thanks to the Philippe family, in which the EIGHT & BOB formula was preserved, the famous cologne sounded again on the most elegant men.

If you are the one who is so similar to Cary Grant or James Bond, or maybe you just want to be something like them, then your dressing table should definitely have an amazing, elegant EIGHT & BOB cologne, because the scent embodies our desire to be different ...

Eight & Bob from Intertrade Europe Group reveals notes of ginger, fragrant cardamom, juicy freshness of lemon and bergamot, in the heart of the fragrance - cistus, guaiac and cedar wood, in the base notes - patchouli, sandalwood, sensual amber, sweet vanilla and wild Andrea.

The plant Andrea, as Fouquet called it, became the soul of this cologne. This wild plant growing in remote mountainous areas was brought by Albert from Chile in January 1934. The plant is not only difficult to find, but it can only be harvested from December to January, besides, of all the cologne collected to create the cologne, the best are selected, about 7%. The process of creating a perfume ends in March-April, that's when it becomes clear how many bottles of EIGHT & BOB will be made.

A rectangular bottle made of thick transparent glass with a black cylindrical cap. The outer packaging again recalls the old story - it is made in the form of a book, inside of which a hole for a bottle is cut out.
