Falling demand for fashionable clothes and accessories in Russia

Recently, the decrease in purchases by buyers for their boutiques has decreased by up to 40 percent, this has affected almost all segments of fashion goods! At the last Fashion Week in Moscow, 15 percent fewer collections were presented, and some collections turned out to be smaller than before.

The numbers are sad, but let's try to thoughtfully figure out whether things are so bad in our country. Why did people buy so much less, solely because of the falling standard of living?

Own experience and impressions

Personally, I do not plan to buy any things at all in the coming months, and maybe even until the end of the year. And it's not a lack of money. In financial terms, everything is fine, there is simply such a phenomenon as saturation, at such moments you don't want anything, because you already have so much.

I have an abundance of basic things, and besides that, there are a lot of clothes and accessories for different looks. If I wish, I can collect complete images completely in green, blue, red, pink, purple, brown and of course in beige, black and white. Therefore, I just want to take a break from shopping and reflect a little on future desires.

Many Russians visit such thoughts, and the crisis has become only a small impetus to stop from unrestrained consumption, and generally abandon purchases for a while or buy more thoughtfully.

Why buy when you have a supply of clothes and accessories for many years, and perhaps for a lifetime? Why waste time and money on shopping when there are chic things at home that were worn only once a year, and some did not wear at all. And this is not because they do not fit, it is just that their turn did not reach them, or they were forgotten.

Of course, over time, you will want something new, but for now you can distract yourself from shopping, for example, reading books or other spiritual and intellectual pursuits that do not require running and spending.

In general, from the point of view of the consumer, everything looks quite good. And the position of shop owners is much worse. Although there is a silver lining. This crisis will clear the ranks of traders from those who grew their business in the 1990s and were unable to rebuild themselves to the realities of the new era. The time of these people has passed, therefore, they must make room. In any case, life goes on, real entrepreneurs will continue to work and become only stronger, and new ones will come, ready to work in new realities.

Everything is not as bad as it seems, in January 2016 the growth of orders from Russian online stores was 30 percent compared to January 2015, and in February 2016 the increase was 14 percent. This data is from the analytical agency Data Insight.
