Bois des Iles by Chanel

Chanel Bois des Iles - perfumes for the CHANEL house were created in 1926 by the famous perfumer Ernest Bo.

The perfume was named "Bois des Iles" or "Tree of Distant Islands" - "woody islands". What prompted the famous perfumer to create this perfume? His answer was surprising to some - "The Queen of Spades" - he replied. Indeed, the spirits suited the music of the opera by P.I. Tchaikovsky's "The Queen of Spades".

Bois des Iles and the Queen of Spades

Ernest Eduardovich I loved this opera and enjoyed it more than once in a wonderful production of the Imperial Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. She left a deep mark on Bo's soul. Human nature is complex, we give preference to one or another piece of music, sometimes not realizing why this music is so disturbing or fascinating.

Perhaps the answer is quite simple - most likely music and our soul are in some consonance, and in music we hear our own soul. And sounds and aromas are so closely interconnected that one transforms into another. That is why music can influence the creation of artists, including aromatic works.

Ernest Beau enjoyed this opera when he was young, and he managed to create a perfume inspired by The Queen of Spades only in adulthood. Inspiration came to him during the performance of this opera, but already in Paris. And this feeling was so strong that he immediately "... with extraordinary clarity felt the aroma of these not yet created spirits." These perfumes became his favorites, and he considered them almost the most delicate of all he created.

Chanel perfume - a fragrance for women by Bois des Iles

Bois des Iles chanel - an oriental woody fragrance for women. The aroma is warm and complex enough. Its composition begins with an accord of aldehydes, coriander, bergamot, peach, mandarin and neroli. The initial notes of the fragrance are somewhat dry and cool with a slight sweetness. But gradually it opens up and becomes warm and sensual. At the heart of the fragrance are notes of iris, lilac, jasmine, orris root, ylang-ylang, lily of the valley and rose. The musical melody ends with lovely notes of amber, sandalwood, tonka bean, opoponax, musk, benzoin, vetiver and vanilla.

The name of the fragrance turned out to be correct. The fragrance sounds light and harmonious, captivating with beauty and energy, femininity and grace, it is calm and confident, and therefore is suitable for strong women who are able to achieve their happiness.

This is one of the first woody fragrances for women. The aromas of wood and wood were used more for men's perfumes.
