Perfume by Jean Patou Joy

Many fragrant masterpieces have left their mark on the history of perfumery in the 20th century. Spirits of Jean Patou "Joy", which means "Joy", can be attributed to the legendary. When these perfumes were created, they were the most expensive.

Joy perfume appeared in 1929 - 1930, in the years of the stock market crash, when there was no question of any joy. Many rich clients, who were guided by all the activities of Jean Patou, could no longer afford expensive outfits. However, it was at this time that Patu came up with the idea to create such a perfume that would become a legend for all time.

More than 80 years have passed, and if they still make hearts flutter with joy, then we can say with confidence that this is a work of perfumery that is beyond the control of time. The composition of the masterpiece combined the rarest and most expensive natural ingredients, and therefore, at that time they became the most expensive in the world.

Joy is a joy, but it is also a name that many women have worn. And Jean Patou's clients most likely included a woman named Joy. Jean Patou loved women, he had more than one love affair, so all of his perfume creations are probably associated with one or another love story.

But back to the glorified spirits. Perfume has become a symbol of the joy of life, hope for better times. This perfume was intended for a woman who knows how to rejoice and be happy even when crises and economic disasters occur. A woman who always remains cheerful and attractive, whose beauty, like perfume, is timeless, it was she who became the symbol of the legendary perfume.

Spirits "Joy" today can be on a par with the best spirits, but then, during the financial catastrophe, journalists wrote that the perfume of Jean Patou became a wonderful elixir that was able to dispel the state of depression and bring a sense of joy in life.

Perfumer Henri Almeras has created a unique creation, the lush and luxurious bouquet of which sounds just great. It cannot be said that the scent of rose or jasmine, tuberose or ylang-ylang is heard in it. We can say about him that he smells delicious.

In early 1930, Jean Patou went to Grasse to visit his friend Elsa Maxwell. At this time, he already had an idea to create extraordinary perfumes, he needed a kind advisor nearby who could understand his intentions. As Elsa later said, Almeras offered them many options, but everything was something wrong, there was no resemblance to the intended Patu.

In desperation, the perfumer revealed yet another fragrance, which was still in development and made up of the most expensive ingredients, among which was a duo of rose and jasmine. And he turned out to be exactly the one to which the ideas of the couturier were striving. "Yes, this is it!"

Almeras tried to explain that extracts of expensive and natural ingredients are concentrated in this fragrance, but this did not stop Jean Patou. He knew his customers, and believed that the use of valuable and expensive raw materials would immediately seduce them, so he confidently made a bold decision to produce an expensive perfume in the midst of the economic crisis. And he was right. Elsa Maxwell came up with an ad: "Joy, the most expensive perfume in the world."

How could his client resist such a temptation? After the appearance of luxurious perfumes, each of them wanted to put on a fragrant bouquet of eternal femininity, so that it was on her that the fragrance would unfold sweet and pure, noble and graceful.

Perfume "Joy" - a floral scent that reveals aldehydes, tuberose, fresh herbs, peach, ylang-ylang and rose. At the heart of the fragrance is a lush bouquet of luxurious orchid flowers, jasmine, lily of the valley and Bulgarian rose combined with iris root. The base of the fragrance is warm and sensual notes of sandalwood, musk and civet.

The first bottle of perfume was made of crystal with clear geometric lines, which have always prevailed in the design of the famous couturier. The couturier's initials are engraved on the lid, on the neck of the bottle there is a gold ribbon-ribbon on which Jean Patou wrote: Joy.

There were other options vials... For example, in 1975 a luxurious crystal bottle "Baccarat". The bottle was placed in a case, which was trimmed with rich fabric inside and decorated with gold.

There are bottles with a simpler version, but this does not detract from the merits of the legendary perfume.
