How to clean faux fur

If suddenly, much to our chagrin, we put a greasy stain on a fur coat made of such fur. What to do? Everyone has such helpers in this case as gasoline and potato starch... To do this, you need to make a mixture of equal parts of gasoline and starch. However, before applying this mixture, you need to make sure that this product does not discolor the fur and does not threaten its fluffiness. To do this, rub some of the mixture onto a small, inconspicuous area of ​​the fur. If everything is in order, then you can proceed. We rub the prepared mass into a dirty place, then we give time for the gasoline to evaporate, after which the product must be shaken, and the remains of starch should be cleaned with a brush. If the stains are old, you may have to repeat this procedure 2-3 times. Even if you use a fur cleaner you bought, try to test its suitability for the fur on an inconspicuous area of ​​the product before you start cleaning the product.

But artificial astrakhan fur cannot be cleaned with products containing gasoline. In this case, you can prepare a solution from a universal washing powder - 1 tablespoon of powder per 1 liter of boiling water. Wet a white cloth, wring it out slightly and run it over the fur several times. If the fur is heavily soiled, wet it again in the solution, and so on until the fur becomes clean. Now soak a clean cloth in warm water and wipe the fur, as if rinsing it. Wipe it down one last time with a cloth dampened in cold water. Next, you need to dry the product in a cool, dark place, and then comb the fur well with a brush in the direction of the pile.

Only acetone and vinegar essence cannot be used for cleaning faux fur. Of course, there will be those who will tell you why I need all this - there is a dry cleaner that can easily and quickly cope with such problems. Yes, of course it is. But there are unforeseen situations when these cleaning methods can be very useful.
