Results of Belarus Fashion Week autumn-winter 2016-2017


On April 6-10, 2016, the eleventh edition of the Belarus Fashion Week project (Fashion Week in Belarus) was held in Minsk. Twice a year, the Belarus Fashion Week platform gathers designers and fashion designers, journalists and heads of leading clothing companies, famous personalities and socially active people of different spheres, in order to demonstrate professional achievements and opportunities in the field of fashion, share experience, see creative experiments and ready-made the results of colleagues, draw conclusions or just get inspired for self-development.


The season traditionally began with an opening press conference. The event took place in a pleasant atmosphere and brought together a large number of journalists, photographers of professional publications and specialized portals, as well as media representatives interested in the development of the project.

In the evening of the same day, the official reception of the opening of the project was held in Cafe de Paris Belarus Fashion Week... The guests of the event were representatives of the media, designers, photographers, well-known media figures of Belarus and other distinguished guests. The light atmosphere of the establishment, live music and exquisite treats created a unique mood of the evening.


Belarus Fashion Week shows were held at the National Exhibition Center, where a podium is traditionally located to showcase full-fledged collections of famous designers and clothing brands that have a permanent client base or retail network.




The main schedule of Belarus Fashion Week for the fall-winter 2016-2017 season included shows of such famous brands as LEORGOFMAN, ton-in-ton, Julia Babiy, Candy Lady, NAVY, Line A, Harydavets & Efremova, Davidova, BOITSIK, Alena Goretskaya, Hunkem? ller, Kardash, TARAKANOVA, Ivan Aiplatov and others.


It is precisely the trends that were demonstrated on the catwalk during the shows that all Belarusian fashionistas will follow in the next autumn-winter season.


Every season Belarus Fashion Week actively cooperates with colleagues from Italy, Germany, France, Great Britain, Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Serbia, China and Ecuador. Foreign designers successfully present their collections on the Belarusian catwalk.


This season, thanks to the Embassy Designer Support Program for foreign designers, shows of such well-known European brands as Federica Tosi (Embassy of the Republic of Italy), Marina Reimann (Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany) were successfully held.


In addition, there were shows by Klaudia Markiewicz (Poland), FABRYAN (Great Britain). The program attracted a large number of guests from ministries, embassies, government officials and aroused great interest in the media. The brands Tinatin Magalashvili and Dasha Gauser also added to the international program.



In the new season, the program for working with young designers changed its format and expanded its field of activity. Off Schedule Belarus Fashion Week has supported designers, stylists, illustrators, video directors, installation artists, creative teams working in the field of fashion, design and other forms of contemporary art.


Within the framework of the Off Schedule program, on the main BFW catwalk, however on simplified conditions, there were shows of the brands Ekaterina Volkova, Jennifer Rusina, Anna Ramakaeva, as well as the SABA brand - the winner of the New Names BFW competition last season, where novice designers, along with the professionals of Belarusian fashion, presented their current collections.


In addition, as part of the Off Schedule BFW by LG program, a number of installations took place: LIMITEDMINSK, Dariko & Piper, ZABELINA, Anna-Maria Eglit, Pipchenko, Yanchilina, Totallook, Natalia Kostroma-Andreyuk, 11KRSTUDIO. One of the participants will receive a grant from LG Electronics for the development and creation of a pret-a-porte collection, which will be presented in November 2016.



The final of the New Names BFW competition for young designers was held on April 9. After two qualifying rounds and critical assessments of professional members of the jury, only six collections made it to the final, and the collection of Marina Merenkova, a graduate of the A.M. Shirokoy Institute of Contemporary Knowledge, won.


One of the important conditions of the competition was the work with natural flax and the transformation of the traditional Belarusian material, taking into account modern trends and the creative vision of the designer himself.


Young bloggers who participated in the Fashion Blog Competition BFW this season had the opportunity to attend the project's shows, and next season they will be able to confidently compete for the main prize - the opportunity to cooperate with the Fashion Collection. Belarus magazine.




Within the framework of Kids' Fashion Days BFW, shows were held: TM "NEXT", TM "Mothercare", LLC "BellBimbo", JSC "Zhlobin Garment Factory", TM "Orchidea Fashion", Fashion Theater "SV Models" Lithuania, TM "BanaBerry" , designer Tatyana Titovets, Fashion Theater “Deshanel”, designers Irina Sazanovich, Valeria Krysa, Maria Skorina and Olga Agey, clothing design studio Veronika Kanashevich, brand “Leya.me” - designer Svetlana Zlotnikova and Svetlana Seregina (St. Petersburg), Vyasyolka Stars and others.


In addition, within the framework of the project, a demonstration of models of school uniforms took place. Kids' Fashion Days is also a charity event. This season, thanks to the initiative of the head of the Organizing Committee Belarus Fashion Week Yanina Goncharova held a unique project "From Children to Children", within the framework of which a charitable fundraiser was held for the construction of the Belarusian Children's Hospice.
