The outline round of the New Names BFW Young Designers Competition has passed

On February 28, 2015, a sketch round of the contest for young designers New Names Belarus Fashion Week, traditionally held as part of the Fashion Week in Belarus with the support of the Belarusian Fashion Chamber, took place. The interview with applicants for participation in the competition took place in the auditorium of the Institute of Contemporary Knowledge. A.M. Shirokova. It should be noted that the satellite has been a strategic partner of the competition for several seasons and has been supporting the project.

The New Names BFW competition is being held on the initiative of the head of Belarus Fashion Week Yanina Goncharova for the eighth time. The goal of the project is to search for new names, as well as to support young talents. So, during the period of its existence, the competition was opened by such names as Tanya Tur, Natalya Kostroma-Andreyuk, Anna Yanchilina, Yulia Aleksandrova, Alexandra Zhuk, Anastasia Kukharevich, Valentina Neborskaya, etc. and on the catwalks of other fashion events.

More than 30 young designers from all over Belarus took part in the first round of the competition. Note that the vast majority of the contestants are students and graduates of specialized educational institutions, which undoubtedly indicates a high level of training of the participants.

The sketch tour commission included:

Yanina Goncharova - Chairperson of the Belarusian Fashion Chamber, Head of Belarus Fashion Week;

Galina Yakovlevna Meshkova - Associate Professor of the Department of Modeling Clothes and Artistic Weaving of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts;

Atrakhovich Elena Igorevna, Head of the Department of Costume Modeling, Institute of Contemporary Knowledge named after A.M. Shirokova.

Ovseichik Ekaterina - executive director of the Open Podium agency for pr and communications.

It should be noted that the other day, a member of the jury, Galina Yakovlevna Meshkova, received from the Ministry of Culture the highest award - a medal “For Contribution to the Development of the Culture of Belarus”. The Belarus Fashion Week team congratulated Galina Yakovlevna on such an important award.

As a result of viewing all competitive works, 13 designers were selected who will present their collections in a finished video during a closed pre-demonstration on April 4, 2015.

Recall that the final competitive show will be held as part of the international professional event Belarus Fashion Week on April 16, 2015. The winner will create a capsule collection specifically for the Black Sheep Project brand (Milan, Italy) and present it on the Fashion Week catwalk in October 2015. Note that the brand director Marco Radoeli will personally attend the final competition show and, together with other members of the jury, will determine the winner.
