Laura Biagiotti entered the University of Rome, but after graduating from his girlfriend had to seriously take up work in the family business. This did not upset her; in reality, she had been working in the fashion sector for a long time, helping her mother, and worked with enthusiasm.

Her career began at a time when the popularity of Italian cinema was at its peak, when the most beautiful movie stars shone on the screens, including her clients, because it was then that Laura worked as a designer for Roberto Capucci. And she became more and more fond of her profession.

In 1972, Laura showed her collection. The collection of cashmere products aroused particular interest among the public. The expensive yarn had a rather difficult character, but the products made from it attracted attention.

There were incredible styles here, comfortable, spacious, soft, they were distinguished by excellent cut, sophistication and style. And besides, they emanated warmth, comfort and a positive attitude. Laura's sweaters and cardigans were in great demand. And Laura was awarded the title of "Queen of Cashmere". This year she founded her own firm, Laura Biagiotti Fashions.



Once upon a time, young Laura Biagiotti dreamed of becoming an archaeologist. The ancient monuments of the Eternal City beckoned and drew her to themselves. It turned out that in order to touch the history of the beloved city of his native Italy, it is not at all necessary to become an archaeologist. In 1998, Laura Biagiotti donated about a million dollars to restore the Cordonata stairs leading to the Capitol. The staircase was created according to the project Michelangelo….

The designer presented the famous theater "La Fenice" in Venice with a new curtain to replace the one that was lost after the 1996 fire. Biagiotti established the first golf club on the outskirts of Rome. She herself became interested in golf, being already an internationally renowned designer.



For many years her husband, Gianni Chinha, was next to her, who helped her in everything. Together they collected paintings, put together one of the best collections of paintings by the Italian artist, Giacomo Balla, one of the founders of Italian futurism. In 1996, this collection was exhibited at the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin.

In the same 1996, Laura's husband died. It was then a time of serious trials for her, the loss of a loved one, friend and helper is difficult to make up for. However, she found strength in doing what she loved. And her daughter Lavinia always remained by her side, and just as Laura herself once helped her mother, so now her daughter came to her aid.


Laura was one of the first to collaborate with a chain of American department stores, creating cashmere products for mass consumption. The cream knit poncho is an iconic piece by Laura Biagiotti.

Laura Biagiotti is one of the first Italian designers to open a boutique in China.Then she said that "... it was in China that I felt how the differences in men's and women's clothing have disappeared in recent years, and people yearned for individuality."

Her models are often spacious, with soft folds, excellent cut and high craftsmanship.



Since 1980 Laura Biagiotti has lived in a medieval castle near Rome with her family. This castle has been restored under her personal supervision. And in order to preserve the green landscape around the castle, a 150 hectare golf course was created.



Laura created clothes for weddings and other special occasions. But everyday models for her have always been the main images, because not everyone is allowed to be present on the catwalks and social events, so she tried to dress an ordinary person beautifully and comfortably.

Many women live under the onslaught of stress, rush to work every day, while away time in traffic jams. And at home there are other concerns - a family that brings not only joy, but also concerns. Such a rhythm of life is difficult to bear. However, in addition to troubles, life also brings joy, you just need to be able to be happy every moment. Therefore, the designer's efforts were limited to improving the quality of life of an ordinary person. Laura Biagiotti has both women's and men's clothing lines.

Her daughter Lavinia has been helping her since 1997 in the development of youth clothing and a perfume line.
