Christmas Fashion Market in Minsk

The Big Christmas Fashion Market took place in Minsk on December 17. It was the third Fashion Market in the history of Belarusian fashion life. The first two took place in July and October. The organizer of the Fashion Market is Victoria Naumova, who is also the author of the pro-fashion.by website and maintains her own fashion blog.

The Christmas Fashion Market took place in a very decent, interiors, place, namely, in the Palace of Culture of Veterans. These are not Belexpo pavilions. It was really possible to represent fashion here - a wide staircase, a beautiful lobby. But ... Not without but. Firstly, it was very hot in the premises, and there was no room in the wardrobe for all the visitors. As for the visitors, there really were a lot of them. The Fashion Market has actually been well publicized. However, the first Fashion Market, which took place in July, was attended by about 500 people, on the second, in the fall, there were already up to two thousand. Belarusian fashion, Belarusian designers are of interest.

But secondly, the way the collections were presented. The impression was that the collections themselves, which were having fun on hangers, simply cluttered the premises, turning it into a market where the crowd was walking, trying to understand what was located and where. Perhaps it was worth placing designers and their collections in the offices that are in the Palace of Culture of Veterans, and in which there were tables with various accessories and knickknacks. Perhaps these tables should have been placed in the lobbies of the third and second floors, and the designers should have been placed in the offices (it is possible for several people at a time), while on the doors of the offices there should be signs that would inform what brand, what designer's clothes, here you can see and purchase. It would have turned out to be a kind of small shops ... However, this is just a look from the outside.

And thirdly, the clothes themselves. For the most part, she was not as interesting as we would like. And this, to some extent, is understood by the organizers. So Victoria Naumova in one of her interviews noted that “The problem is not even that these clothes are little known, but that the designers themselves need to work a lot on their brand, on their collections. They need to explain to the public that this is high-quality, exclusive clothing that can be worn and not just looked on the catwalk. "

Why are our designers so fond of these poisonous greens and very strange, reminiscent of something not decent shades of yellow and brown? Why are they so attracted to incomprehensible silhouettes? And because of the crowd and stuffiness, there was no strength left to look for something interesting. However, the Fashion Market was held from 12.00 to 19.00 and, perhaps, by the evening there were still fewer people.

In the Christmas Fashion Market, both collections of designers who have repeatedly participated in fashion shows and competitions, as well as collections of those designers who have just begun to test themselves in this difficult business, were presented. So among the famous in a narrow circle of people who are keen on Belarusian fashion, there were collections of such designers as Marina Davydova, Tatyana Marynich, Yulia Latushkina, Rada-style studio.

Tatiana Marynich has been developing author's collections since 2005. She graduated from the Minsk College of Technology and the Institute of Contemporary Knowledge with a degree in fashion designer. Tatiana Marynich is the author of the MARINICH brand, clothes for “intellectuals, careerists, successful women”. Her most famous collections are Megapolis and Chess. She has a love for simple colors: black, white, gray. She also likes to experiment with forms of clothing: sometimes it is successful, sometimes not very much. But in general, her clothes are quite understandable and appropriate.

Yulia Latushkina has participated in many republican and international contests ("Mill of Fashion", the winner of which she was for four years in a row, "Couturier of the Year", "Admiralty Needle"). Trained in Berlin (Letto Verain school) and Amsterdam (Catta Donkeshot fashion house).Julia Latushkina, judging by her collections, loves experimenting with combinations of colors and shapes. She loves contrasts. She collaborates with the German shopping center Galeries Lafayette (where her collection of evening dresses was put up for sale).

The Rada-style studio-store was created over 10 years ago by designer Tatyana Sycheva. In addition to sewing and selling fashionable clothes, the studio also develops stage costumes.

Collections of other designers were also presented at the Fashion Market. But here's what's curious about models clothes from Belarusian designers look much better, better quality and more profitable than on hangers. And on hangers so often these incomprehensible silhouettes, strange colors and a feeling of dubious tailoring appear, perhaps not all reach the podium, but only the best ones, although on the catwalks all the shortcomings are also sometimes very clearly visible. And the Belarusian fashion itself still leaves a strange ambiguous impression of some kind of imperceptibly existing ghost.
