Designers - Russia, Belarus, Ukraine

A warning! This selection includes exclusively designers from three countries - Belarus, Ukraine, Russia. The choice of designers was carried out only in accordance with the preferences of the author of this article, and, as you know, there are no comrades in taste and color.

However, in my humble opinion, these designers are very interesting, their ideas, which they embody in their work, are not very trivial, which means they certainly deserve attention. Thus, I sincerely hope that readers of this article will discover interesting names or find interesting ideas.

design duet Anna and Alexey Borodulina photo

So, the best design duo is undoubtedly Anna and Alexey Borodulins... These designers, by the way, husband and wife, also very skillfully rework the historical theme, making it modern, attractive and quite possible to wear. An example is the collections "Tsar's Daughters" and "Olga".

In the collection "Tsar's Daughters" there are no exact copies of the dresses of the daughters of the last Russian emperor Nicholas II, this collection is not theatrical, the designers in it only present their interpretation of these costumes, while the creation of the collection was preceded by the study of archives.

Olga collection - dedicated to Grand Duchess Olga photo

The collection "Olga" is dedicated to the Grand Duchess Olga, the ruler of the times of Kievan Rus, the first woman who ruled the Russian lands, there are no historical costumes in the collection either, the designers only strive to convey the very atmosphere of the era, the character of the image. That is, Anna and Alexei Borodulin, it seems to me, are very successful in embodying that very Russian spirit, however, in quite modern, wearable things.

Designers work under the BORODULIN`S brand, which was founded in 2008.

designer Dmitry Sholokhov photo

Dmitry Sholokhov - the opening of the year and a classic of New York. Dmitry Sholokhov is a young, talented designer from Belarus, but at the moment the designer works and lives in New York, graduated from Parsons School of Design - one of the best design schools in the world, and also became the winner of the famous television project "Podium" - a design competition.

This collection was developed by the designer for the Belarusian clothing brand O. Jen (Dmitry Sholokhov for O. Jen). The best characteristics of this collection are calm, elegant, classic, in the spirit of New York.

Irina Boitk is a designer from Belarus, she has been creating her own collections since 2008, her collections were demonstrated at Lviv Fashion Week and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, a regular participant in Belarus Fashion Week. By the way, when the famous violinist Vanessa May came to Belarus and wished to perform on stage in a dress from a Belarusian designer, she was presented with dresses from two designers, one of whom was Irina Boitk.

designer André Tan photo

Andre Tan - bright and memorable. Andre Tan (real name Andrei Tishchenko) is a designer from Ukraine. He founded his brand, andre TAN, in 2000.

An interesting fact - Andre Tan is the youngest Ukrainian fashion designer, but at the same time he is already one of the ten best designers in Ukraine.

By the way, the whole of Europe got acquainted with the designer's work in 2005 - it was he who was the author of the stage costume of the singer Ruslana, who in 2005 represented Ukraine at Eurovision.

He is also called the person who introduced a new direction in Ukrainian fashion - Smart Couture.

Olya Ruzha Olga Zaretskaya photo

Olya Ruzha (Olga Zaretskaya) - the author of fairy tales. No one promised that only clothing designers would be included in this top-five, so the girl who creates designer toys closes her in. In addition to toys under the Olia Ruza brand, you can also buy designer jewelry, Olga is also involved in the creation of clothes, but very rarely (“most of all I like working on toys and wedding dresses,” she says). The peculiarity of this designer is the ability to create truly fabulous and kind things that can please not only the eye, but also the soul.
